Jesper Pedersen Posted October 20, 2016 Share Posted October 20, 2016 Hi Hrishikesh, I think you need to get a discussion going with your client. If you're talking about a basketball stadium or similar, you may be able to "guestimate" the seating / tiers from a footprint, but if you are talking about a full outdoor stadium, then you should explain to your client that you need more information (ideally a full set of cad drawings). You need to know what the client needs it for. Presumably this is for an initial concept to raise funds or to communicate an idea. If it's anything more advanced than that, then you need definite detail and drawings. Be aware that you will more than likely spend a lot of time making changes if you are going at this without any drawings. If your client said "go out and buy me a pair of pants" , you'd have to ask a few questions if you did not want to be sent back to the shop several times. It's a bit like that... Sorry I forgot to say a scattering plug-n like forest pack will be extremely useful for doing the seating (we recently did colour options using simple shapes drawn in plan as exclude/exclude areas. If you plan it right and get a little practice you will have huge control and flexibility to give let the client see several options / colour schemes. Really, what Chris said is the best advice: ...insist on drawings !, otherwise you will dragged into a design process (if you're qualified for that then ok, but it's specialised obviously).
