Vray Displacement Help

Hi there,

I'm currently working on a project which requires some pebble dashing render on the rear of the property.

I'm using vray displacement to create this effect but the problem i'm having is that when i apply it all the edges around windows etc become bobbly and slimmer due to the displacement as well as the depth of the sills become smaller.

Is there a way to still get the effect but keep the edges in the same place.

I've attached images to try and explain what i mean. Mainly looking at the windows on the first floor.

Any advice would be great

Thanks

Just use a bump map, I don't think that finish at that distance requires a displacement or normal map.

I'm still mostly on VRay 2.5, so I don't know if this is still the case, but Normal maps provide bump when illuminated by skylight/IBL, while regular bump maps are nearly or entirely invisible.
