Vray Fibre Optic with light spots

Hello all, I quite often refer to this forum for help and find it extremely useful. I now have a question which I don't seem to be able to find an answer for.

I am trying to recreate fibre optic lights that also have a 'light source' periodically throughout the fibre wire, as per this...

I am modeling in 3ds max 2017 and using Vray latest version.

Any help on both modelling the random fibres and also a vray material to achieve this look? Many thanks in advance.

One way could be to model it as is, create a spline, then transform it to a tube.

Create a small sphere can could fit inside of your tube and using the spacing tool you can place all those lights along your path, then just give a glass material to your tube and self illuminated material to your lights.

If you get fancy you can use the glare effect on VRay buffer.
