autocad Import or link gets different results

I'm trying to link a autocad file to max where i will later add a chanfer modifier to some bricks that have been sliced from a solid.

 

The problem is i get separated normals in max, but that does not happen if i do an import!!!

 

So i tried doing a small file to try it out and that happened again!

 

do you have any idea of what is happening?

 

BTW i didn't use weld in both cases.
