Default Rendering best practices and technique highlights

    Hi CGArchitect people,

cebas Visual Technology has started a tutorial channel at
    https://vimeopro.com/cebasvt/finalre...uick-tutorials

It will be ongoing but enough for December please come follow if you find the tips from Edwin Braun helpful. Also, suggestions are welcome - such as what topics you like us to cover in hybrid rendering.

    Thanks.

The feature-based vids are nice but the white, residential look isn't really helping anyone. Generally speaking, I'd suggest topics on dealing with color and texture in the absence of an HDRI crutch-

Sorry, I've been reviewing portfolios lately and I'm tired of seeing the same kitchen/loft shots over and over.

totally agree, just yesterday I had a client say how she is fed up seeing the same apartment fit out in every render, the same kitchen, the same bathroom and so on, especially in this highly competitive residential market we are in at the moment.

Not surprising given that interior design/decor - (therefore renderings) are trend driven. Look at Mad Men interiors, both business and residential (tempera anyone?) - look at Post Modern design motifs and the "cool" textured colored pencil drawings.

My friend in Berkeley is freaking out because watercolor is less in vogue these days.

Oh how I would love to have clients let me paint renderings like that. That would be a blast.

The trick is always getting a client to go along with anything more interesting than the look-of-the-day. Interestingly different renderings can be a distraction from the client's direction and trigger their fears of turning off potential customers.

    Thanks for sharing.
I've learnt alot from Edwin over years when I've worked with TP and he is really smart guy.

the effort that Cebas are putting in their renderer is so noticeable But i guess for better marketing you really NEED to find more eye candy examples.. Take a look at Corona renderer official channel to see what i mean.
    Best regards,
