I used on my machine (WD Caviar 7200) and this thing is super fast. I can really see and improvement when opening reg windows and Max scenes. check it out!

You can perform this same function without a utility by doing the following...

 

Start-settings-ctrl panel-system-device manager-devices

 

There will be an IDE controller, right click and properties on the primary and secondary channels. You'll see device settings, thats where you can set DMA or PIO mode for all devices on the chain, just set everything to DMA, it'll auto select the correct ones, reboot and your done.
