I like NPR too, I think there is still a lot of more experimentation for this particular technique with computer rendering as it is not used all that much but brings the richness of what you can achieve by hand. I will bring it back a little later once I have the rest of the scene set. Thanks for the comment. I noticed your render WIP had a very nice watercolor touch to it. It has a touch of both photorealistic plus an artistic touch of natural media. I look forward to progress from your piece as well! |

Added light accents- I will be looking next at the option to add a third material, not sure as I think I want to keep it very simple as far as materials.
Just a few little more added effects and this concept piece will come to a close for challenge #1. Enjoy! |

I have come to the decision to keep the materials simple with just two. Light emitting surfaces and diffuse surfaces. After another thought I am considering a very sparse use of some glass in a few key places.
The concept is really about light, form, and a somewhat focused physical space. The use of components pieces are used to suggest how these elements of light, form, and space might interwine to create a suggestion of architectural space. The intent is not to present a photorealistic/detail image but a more freely, intensified conceptual downtown corridor in some time not too different or too distant from our current time in a city of a culturally diverse cosmopolitan culture of the 21st century. Tyrone,
Really like the the spec blooms. The view of scene is kind of static...almost proportional & equally balanced. Maybe a wider field of view and rotate camera counter clocklwise a bit. Creating some distortion while maintianing cutting of the view by the over head gaps. Just a thought from the peanut gallery, for one of the Allusionists Looks great keep up the good work! WDA

Hello WDA and Speedline!
Good to see you both, I think for this round, I will settle with the camera angle of neutral axis because it contrasts with the movement of forms/volumes in the scene. I think the suggestion to change the camera angle is one I will do some more investigation. I put up the final image, definitely enjoyed this challenge and the many other worlds of creation from the other contestants. Good luck everyone! We all deserve a much needed space of rest from all the hard work! |
