vray sss

here's a question: i want to use a vray material with translucency ON in order to achieve a sub-surface scattering effect.

When i turn translucency on, the material becomes red and renders like a standard material with red color on self illumination. The objects also render with nasty jagged edges.

I have found that by changin even a little the FOG color (which initialy is white) solves the problem. however, i would like to know why this happens and how can i solve it if i want a perfect white fog for my translucency.

shouldn't white fog render white sss?

hope i made myself clear...

i'm using vray 1.46.12
