  1. Make a spline along the edge of the driveway, sweep that spline, make sure your spline parameters have 'generate uvw' ticked on. Apply your texture map same as drive way, it should now follow the curve. Use XForm UVW to make changes to tiling.
  2. I am the sole Viz artist in an A/E/I firm and have been lucky to get a little bit of everything. At times I render what has already been designed, whether its architecture or landscaping or interiors. The creative input is typically at a minimum but my colleagues trust me that if I want to make adjustments, I will run them by the appropriate person first. Other times there are pitch projects where I get to work within a team that sets up the general vision but is 100% responsive to my design opinions, aesthetic and general creative vision for how we can win a project. Again, mutual respect for each other's skillsets is paramount. I really think it is possible to have the best of both worlds. I love architecture, I follow architects and their work, photographers, designers, etc etc so I keep my interests and opinions relevant and my colleagues respond appropriately. I have learned a tremendous amount from my colleagues and it truly enriches the experience of how we can be of help to one another.
  3. The demo you sent actually IS pano2vr (check out the source.) I would recommend Pano2VR for the price because all of the plugins are straight forward to use and are integrated. KRpano seems clunky and you have to acquire plugins separately.
  4. This certainly does the deed. Let a client know there isn't currently a product on the market that you can purchase to fulfill this task. Produce a quote for a custom shoot. Seeing the additional quote is usually enough for needs to quickly change. If they go with it, all the better. Charge yourself the extra time to then shoot for your own library for use in the future.
  5. So I went ahead and downloaded it. For intermediary design process viz, WOW. I've never seen old school architects so excited about using a new product. Thanks so much for the link! Looks like they now have a new customer in us.
  6. I would HIGHLY suggest Fuzor for Revit. https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=342979380543012337&appLang=en&os=Win32_64 It really is the ultimate for real-time BIM viz. The arch firm I am with uses it often for QC between all the in-house A/E/I disciplines as well as communicating designs with the client. You can even run the model walk through on mobile. It is more plug and launch that any other programs I can think of and you are able to toggle assets on and off within the model when Fuzor is running. For instance, if I only wanted to see mechanical and electrical, I make sure their visibility is on and if I wanted to only see mechanical and architectural, that's easy as well. You can check for collisions in real time, for measurements and even do walkthroughs as various characters. As far as practicality goes, outside of eye candy, this will offer you everything you are asking for.
  7. Thanks so much. I wish it was stereoscopic, and infinitely zoomable, more flushed out and and and .... the list never ends. The trees are Evermotion I think. I've had them proxied in another project from a while back so I can't be certain from which collection they are.
  8. I am a little scared of the render times I am seeing here. Granted, we all have a very different threshold for quality control. Having come from Neoscape where quality standards are set really high and having moved on over to a traditional architecture company for whom I am their first rendering artist, having to find a balance producing images at the last minute with no render farm, has been an interesting juggling act. With that in mind, this is a quick proof of concept project I turned around http://removed using Pano2vr Pro. Highly recommend it by the way. I tried KRPano and this is just so much more intuitive to use at the moment at least. The panoramas were 10x5k and took 1 - 1.5 hours to render. Having stored the HDRI contribution with irradiance, I was able to cut down on that time from 5 hours. Yes, the shadow quality is not the same, especially to a trained and discerning audience found here. However, proving that this is a viable form of communication that does not necessitate more resources and more time on the part of the firm, was the main objective. Personally, I can die happy, and probably somewhat tormented, if we could have infinite/vector like zoom on our renderings. Until then, drawing a line on quality vs time vs optimization will have to take precedent.
  9. My go to favorite is Admira http://admira.sg
  10. Hey Sherif, In addition to what others have said, I think you must also consider the individual studios. A studio that may produce quick turn around images for architects for their internal design process may have a very different definition of what a junior or a senior artist’s responsibilities are. An artist may be ready to handle the responsibilities of a senior at one firm but not be ready to be client facing and taking the role of a creative director as well in a studio that produces images and films that we so excitedly drool over. Even within those studios, division of labor and responsibilities would most likely be split according to your talents and how you will best fit within a team. There are many components that go into making yourself a marketable artist. While they do revolve around your end product, the process that you take to get there still maters an incredible amount. Are you easy to speak with? Can you communicate effectively even when stressed? With clients? With other team members? Can you ask questions? Take initiative? Take a step back? Take criticism? and so on and on. Unfortunately, we can only attempt to answer these questions about ourselves. The reality? It is a matter of a good manager to discern all of this information. Hope this was of some help!
