  1. Were you still using FPP 5.1? Once I upgraded to 5.2 the problem went away.
  2. Also, install v5.1.3 beta. I haven't tested it enough to know for sure, but it seems to be working.
  3. It is crazy that a well designed plugin can cause something like this, but I agree that it has to be FPP. Now that I know someone else has this I think I can rule out faulty hardware, but have you run any GPU or memory tests? What hardware and software are you running?
  4. Hi Pablo, I actually never got this figured out. I prematurely said it was solved because I thought it was, but I think it just wasn't happening to empty scenes. I've tried everything and I can't figure it out. I just turn off my computer without closing Max now. But now that I know it's not just me hopefully we can fix this.
  5. See how much contrast there is in your reference image? The light coming in through the window even blows out the floor. Don't be afraid to try something similar. Experiment with the lighting to get some nice shadows.
  6. I think the simple answer is the resolution of the HDRI is too low and you might get around this by checking "sub-pixel color mapping".
  7. The prepass generally isn't a very good indication of what the final render will look like. So it would be better for you to show us the final render. If the final image is overexposed my first guess is it has something to do with your dome light multiplier being set at 15. Try leaving it at 1 and setting the inverse gamma to something around 0.75. Also, is your shutter speed at 1/2000s or 1/2s? If it's at 1/2s then it's off and you should look at something like this to set it correctly first.
  8. On the crazy off chance that someone runs into this problem again some day, I'll leave what I found here. I ordered a network license for Forest Pack Pro but just installed the license service on my computer because I was too impatient. I could open Max and use FPP fine, but when I closed Max it would try to release the license and I would get a BSOD. I have no idea how that makes sense. But I got the license server installed on the proper machine and everything works as intended. It's the only thing that changed.
  9. Thanks Dimitris, Unfortunately DDU and re-install didn't solve the problem. Every time I get the error and start Max again I'm getting the UI "workspace_1__usersave__.mnux is invalid" error and it won't open unless I rename the UI folder. Have you ever heard of that?
  10. I have been able to run Max 2015 and 2017 fine, but every time I close them I get a BSOD. The memory dump says nvlddmkm.sys which I know is a GPU error. I updated the drivers to 372.54, that didn't solve it. It seemed to start happening around the time I installed FStorm or Forest Pack. I removed FStorm and that didn't change anything. I was hoping not to uninstall Forest Pack, but could that really be the problem? Any insight is appreciated. I'm going crazy! Windows 10 i7-6800k GTX 970
  11. These look awesome, but the first thing I noticed in the foggy image is the slight shadow to the left of the building. It makes the sky look flat almost like the building is up against a wall. Try removing that shadow.
