  1. hi i downloaded the script and i have been trying to covert max materials to Vray but im having difficulties in doing it...plz can someone help me with it...thanks ^_^

  2. well said, marek. I am not an architect but i have done numerous architectural renderings for architects. i show my portfolio to prospective clients to show them my rendering skills without having to mention who the designers are. but once they ask who the architects are, of course, i tell them. i dare not take credit for it. am i required to mention them? i really don't think so. what would be WRONG is that if i present myself with my portfolio as THE DESIGNER/ARCHITECT. I would like to assume that there are architects whose designs have been influenced by other famous architects in one way or another. they don't need to mention those influence everytime they draw a line. somehow, i guess, the original designers take pride in knowing that there is somebody out there who's been "copying" his style yet they don't expect any credit. am i right in saying this?
  3. here's another finished project for your comments, please. thanks
  4. here's a finished work i did for a hospital... c&c please. thanks
  5. hi all, would appreciate some c&c's. thanks
  6. try this: http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/showthread.php?t=12401 jojo
  7. maxstart.max is found in your scenes folder. setup up everything from viewport, rendering, and whatever else you can think of then click file, save as, look for the file maxstart.max in your scenes folder and then click save. i am not sure if all your settings will be save but i'm sure most of them will be saved. hope this answers your query. jojo some of the settings that worked with my maxstart.max: perspective viewport is located at the upper righthand corner, color of my viewport background, safe frame is on, default renderer is vray, snap is on, resolution is set to 640x480 (can't remember the rest because my pc is rendering at the moment). i guess you just have to setup everything you can think of, save and check which settings were saved and which were not.
  8. that's displacement grass, travis. i think i also used displacement on my shingles. bump map just doesn't give the right effect. i might try blurring the final image. thanks
  9. 3dx, actually the house is in tali beach, batangas. the place is like a subdivision and not all houses are situated by the beach like this one. the beach is at the back of the house about two blocks away. anyway, thanks for your advices. the textures are not final yet - actually, the designer hasn't given me the final materials yet so i just threw some materials so that when the final materials are decided it'll be easier for me to replace them. ecastillor, yeah i'm working on the reflection, really need more tweaking and environment, thanks
  10. hi guys, here's a wip done in max/vray. still have to change the front lawn because of contour that's why no plants yet. as always critiques are much appreciated. thanks
  11. bro, you might also want to try the camera correction so that your vertical lines are really vertical unless you really want to achieve this kind of perspective. in case you don't know where it is (it's not in the max help) select your camera, right click and you'll find it in the quadmenu. you're doing good so far
  12. try pressing x on your keyboard. that is the toggle switch for the transform gizmo (that is the red-green-blue arrows for your move, rotate and scale). you press this key because sometimes you just want the gizmo out of the way when you are, for example, editing the bezier handles of your vertices.
