  1. Hey guys, I was curious as to vray fur for maya. The settings seem very sparse in comparison to vray fur for 3ds max. Its lacking clumping and a whole slew of other options. Does anyone know if these options are hidden or something? Id really like to push vray fur in maya. Thanks!
  2. I think this piece is awesome.. I love the mood and the texturing is super nice also. The pillows do look a bit floaty but thats a simple fix. I also agree with the char. The part where your bum goes looks a bit long.. Could be from the FOV of the camera? Overall though, excellent work.
  3. Thanks thanks! lol. I dont plan to live here any longer then possible. I want to move out to Los Angelas or somewhere to get into the film industry.
  4. lol cool cool! haha.. I finshed mine up today.. here it is!
  5. Hey whats up guys! After countless hours of trying to match a material, i cannot figure it out for the life of me. Im trying to get this vase in the picture. How would you guys go about matching it? Any thoughts or ideas? I have tried putting a ramp on the reflection of the material, a ramp on the diffuse color and also playing with the glossiness of reflection and refraction. I cannot figure it out. thoughts and ideas?!
  6. Nope! One of the first things I checked. I just double and triple checked also. I have no clue what happened!
  7. Same thing from the camera being duplicated. However if i create a new camera its fine as long as i input the same settings as the previous corrupted camera.
  8. Hey whats up guys. I have apparently ran into an issue that just baffles me. I had my vray camera setup, its been working fine for the last couple of days. Ive been able to render out as much as I want no issues and its been great! Well i close out of maya 2012, run some errands, come back and re load maya with the scene and when I do a test render it builds the photon maps and caustic maps but it renders out a black image. Nothing more. There is nothing in front of the camera and none of the camera attributes have been changed from when it was working. Does anyone have any insight to this?
  9. Awesome Scott! Thanks for the advise.. I felt like I was dealing with a rats nest. Its always good to hear "just get to modeling" lol. I do have the ability to get max 14 as I am a student. Do you know if you can export out the final piece to use in say maya?
  10. Hey whats up guys! I need some advise or help with setting up my room to block out within maya. Im trying to match the perspective of this room and match the camera. Im not sure where i need to create the image plane (in which viewport) or where to start building out the blocked walls etc. Any help or suggestions? If someone is kind enough to build the scene then show me what they did, that would be amazing! Just need the base cube for walls built out in the right perspective. Thank!
  11. Hey there Mohammed. First off, im no pro, but you can take my critiques if ya like!. First off the scene seems a bit confusing and hard for my eye to follow. The wood floor seems a bit sporadic. Second the books need some separation.. They seem to flow together and they dont have the "Natural Book look". I love the pillows.. they look great. The carpet looks good also. Im not a fan of the color on the apples or pears. They need some variety and less harsh color. Overall good job.
  12. Hey thanks Andy... Here is the other thread because I thought this was closed. http://forums.cgarchitect.com/73789-two-story-living-room.html
  13. Here is the newest update with some color correction and some light adjustments.
  14. Hey there jason! The piece is starting to really come together.. I like it a lot and its cool to see you progress!. I will agree with the asphalt it needs something to make it stand out. Also, if there was a way you could introduce some volumetrics to the scene to give it a sense of atmosphere that could help sell it also!
  15. Hey thanks for the ideas and critiques guys! I have a cleaned up render and some things that I am trying to do. I would like to add a Moon fill light coming through and casting shadows from the window frames that are behind the camera. Im not quite sure on how I am going to achieve this so I have a lot to play around with. Do you guys have any suggestions for this idea? I have attached two images. The first is the updated cleaned render with a bit of a blue fill light coming into the room but its not looking the way I want it to. Im looking for the the moon to project the type of shadows that are in the sunlight room.
