  1. That looks amazing, would you be able to share your Railclone graph? I've made some pretty complex stuff with RC, but scratching my head at how you got such a good result.
  2. To expand on this, I have a Unity scene that I made for this exact reason. If you want it, let me know and I'll Dropbox it for you. EDIT: It's pretty basic, but meaning you build a new app for each image you want in stereo 3D. Re-reading your OP, I guess you want an app with all your images in that you can scroll through? Not built that functionality in yet. It's on my to-do list when I free time (So once in a blue moon) but it's not too hard to do yourself
  3. Ahh I see now. In this case all I'd do is either cut them up into individuals the best I can and discard the rest, then arrange them as needed in the scene (Although this is time consuming and tedious) or use 3D people, as proxy objects. Doesn't impact scene navigation having them as proxies but can hit RAM hard at render time. Sorry I can't be of more help, hopefully someone else will have a good solution!
  4. Yea, changing system units will do that. Collapse all your geometry to editable poly and go to Utilities>More>Rescale World Units. If your original scene was in, say meters and you adjusted units to KM, you'd scale by 1000. Make sure everything is as close to 0 as possible before you do this. As has been said, things get far away from 0 it's gonna go to hell regardless of unit setup.
  5. Maybe I'm not understanding correctly, but can't you use the perspective tool in Photoshop? Could you post an example?
  6. Try installing this plugin a connection on LinkedIn shared last week - it's free https://www.sinisoftware.com/products/plugins/forensic Finds unseen bloat in the scene and removes it. If it's just one file, attach each of the objects you're going to save select on to a cube beforehand and see if it still happens.
  7. In my opinion you'd be better off self teaching through Youtube or Lynda - That's pretty much what I ended up doing whilst at university.
  8. I'm still using IR + LC. To be honest the last time I played around using BF the render times were astronomical, but that was before joining a company as a dedicated stills artist, so my workflow has sped up considerably now. Any tips on trying out the switch to BF? Will give it a go on my current project.
  9. Hi, Under Light cache settings there's a tick box caled "Retrace" I can't remember what I changed it to, but I believe I just lowered the threshold until the problem was solved.
  10. Oh of course, my bad. Max 2015, unsure how to check what service pack - all legit and license by company I should add.
  11. That was my first thought, but it does it even if an autosave isn't due. Also, when it does autosave when I'm in a file menu it will start responding again when the save is finished. I can walk away from the machine for an hour, come back and if this bug has occurred it will still not respond.
  12. Well, another day another Max issue... Had this problem for a while and not come across anything like it before. In menus, such as the save dialog or when loading a bitmap into a material, Max will often freeze and becomes completely unresponsive. No amount of time will unfreeze it, you have to force quit. Obviously, I load a lot of bitmaps into my scenes so this can get pretty damn annoying. It seems to be completely random when it occurs also. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks again.
  13. Already tries merging everything into a new scene. When I do that, everything imports fine and the scene works OK for a while whilst I'm working on it. Will even render, but if I save then try to reopen the scene, I immediately get an error message before the scene opens and it crashes to desktop. I think what I'm going to try in the morning is merging parts of the scene in one by one, saving and seeing if it will open. Its a strange one, Ive modelled the vast majority of the scene myself and not used much imports, and the assets I have brought in are regularly used.
  14. Hi, Having a serious issue at the moment. Earlier, a file I'd been working on crashed, but I have Autoback set to every 10 mins, so thought maybe I haven't lost too much. The problem is, the autoback file doesn't open. I get a program crash, sometimes with an error message sometimes just straight to the error report dialog. I thought it must just have been a corrupt file, however I wasn't able to open any files I'd saved that day of the scene - all of them just crash straight away. I can still open other projects files just fine. I got around this by merging everything into a new scene, and it was working perfectly. I saved the file as an increment and carried on working. About an hour later I get another crash to desktop, and once again I can't open the file. I can still merge everything in however, although I don't want to have to keep merging to a new scene every time I need to open Max. Anyone experienced anything like this before? There's too much in the scene and it's too tight a deadline to go through and try to single out exactly what piece of geometry it isn't liking...
