  1. Thank you for taking the time to reply. In relation to the brightness. I think this was down to the calibration of my monitor (i think the monitor was too bright) because when I opened it on my SP4 I could tell it was a bit dark. In relation to the table and chairs. I was using a reference image from houzz.com and I was copying their composition. I'll play around with the composition and see how it looks. Thanks Adam
  2. Hi Felix, nice work. Generally a really good scene. Now, I'm by no means an expert but merely some fresh eyes. I have a few pointers (i could be very wrong) 1) The image seems quite flat. By that I mean it is fairly evenly lit. Maybe an increase in contrast or more dynamic lighting - a greater difference in dark and light areas. 2) The scene looks really perfect The floor is a really flat colour and everything. The sofa looks unused. Maybe some depressions in the cushions or loose fabric? 3) TV reflection looks weird Maybe make the TV less reflective 4) Armchair material Looks flat 5) Lights Maybe some light effects (glow)? A nicely designed room. I hope it helps. Adam
  3. Studio/Institution: Personal Genre: Residential Interior Software: Vray, 3ds max Description: I'd really appreciate some feedback on this image. I've been away from archviz for a while and have recently jumped back in. Any improvements would be greatly appreciated along with how to implement them. Thanks
  4. Im back this another scene haha. This one is taken from an image i was in a Rolf Benz catalogue. I'm really unsure about the lighting on the back wall. its way too over exposed but im unsure how to deal Also if you Google 'Rolf Benz Cara' you can see the image. I really like the lighting coming through the window and am really unsure how to replicate it. ive assumed its studio lighting rather than natural but im not sure. Also on a slightly unrelated note. Does anyone have any information or examples of PDF portfolios. Im looking at putting one together to start applying for junior type jobs. Any information would be vital. im really at a loss with it. Number of images, types of images, sized, other information to include..... As always any feedback is appreciated. Adam
  5. Hi Edouardo, I too am new to arch viz and i hope i can help with your scene. I would first consider the exposure of your scene. to me it seems a little over exposed. this would be washing the colour from. Its hard to say without seeing you camera's setting but i would look into Changing the shutter speed. Another thing i would consider would be the position of your sun. Photographers rarely include the sun in their images. place the sun behind the camera and not in the shot. Checking you materials couldn't hurt either. It seems to be a block colour rather than a material with any real world properties such as texture and reflectivity. Your material, to me, seems way too reflective. Some extra consideration i would add would include the composition of your image. The photographer has clearly used the rule of 3rds (give it a google. Its real simple to incorporate). You could include some clouds? Dont get lost in the simplicity of this photo. Although it may seem simple at first glance there is a lot of complexity within in the scene. Aerials, Windows ect. Teir is also some wear to the builing and extruding bit which stop it from being simply 2 cubes. You're right in saying this is a really cool style. Its a really nice start and i really like this style and may consider it myself. As i said, i am no expert myself, so take this information at face value and let me know how you get on. Adam
  6. I have attached 2 images. One has some old style effects on it and the other is just a standard beauty pass. Any feed back is very much appreciated. Adam
  7. Hi guys, Thanks again for your feedback. I've been working on a new scene and was wondering if i should start a new thread or post it in here? Adam
  8. Hi Guys, I really appreciate the replies. I've been really busy this weekend hence the slow reply. To address this issues with scale. - Everything in the scene is to scale. the ceilings are 240 cm and the tables is 80cm, so, i would guess it would have something to do with camera distortion? im not that much of an expert. I Adjusted the scale of the wooden panelling. Did this help? The issues with ceiling. I think that this is down to the render settings as it is just a plain off white material for testing purposes. I could be wrong for sure. could you clarify if you refer to the blotches? I have altered the shutter speed to increase light within the scene. Could you please advise as to how to bounce more light around the scene? Also for a final note. I have implemented your feedback and uploaded a new image. Do you have any feedback on this new image and ideas how i could change the doorway. Once again. thanks for your feedback. Adam
  9. Studio/Institution: Future portfolio piece Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3Ds Max 2014, Vray 3.0, Description: Hi. I would be really grateful if you could give me some feedback on one of my renders. The render is hopefully going to be the first in a portfolio of work. I really need some work. I'm just not sure where to go. The irradience map is set to the low pre-set and the light cache is at 500. This is really for to speed. Any feedback you could offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Adam
  10. Hi, I'm Adam! I'm pretty new to Arch viz and am excited to be building up a portfolio of work ready to send of to prospective companies. I started off wanting to work within VFX for films but ended up doing Games Development at college and then getting my BA in Computer Animation from Teesside Uni. As i said previously, I'm currently working towards building up a strong portfolio aimed towards Arch Viz but definitely need guidance and pointing in the right direction. i have strong modelling skills within 3Ds Max and have a small amount of experience using Vray (Free tutorials online). Any Feedback/ information you could share would be most appreciated. Whether it be professional advice (securing jobs) or portfolio advice (i will post some images), I'll take what i can get. Oh, and if you have any Arch Viz jobs going spare, I'd be happy to take one of those off of your hands as well. Failing that i make a cracking cup of tea. Thanks and i look forward to hearing from you all.
