  1. still working on this... i created a motion flow script of the bip walking east. i created another script of the bip walking north. both are in the position and direction i want them to be. but, when i import the two scripts into the motion mixer and mix down the position and direction of the northbound script is wrong (moves east and in wrong position). there must be a way to do this!
  2. i have a custom bip walk cycle in my max scene from frames 467 to 938. i would like to copy the exact walk cycle to frames 1700 to 2171 but need to change the start position and direction. any ideas how to do this? i tried saving the motion file then importing but it just puts it at frame 0 instead of frame 1700.
  3. I have a timeframe of 3400 frames, I am importing a .bip walk sequence that is only 300 frames. What could I do to move the 300 walking frames to the middle of my 3400 frames rather than at the beginning?
  4. I am using an image sequence for an animated texture. The texture's length is 400 frames. The entire animation length for the project is 3200 frames. By default, the texture animation loops after the 400 frames. Is there any way to stop the texture from looping and hold the final frame? thx
  5. i have an object being loaded xreferencely, and can be seen in wireframe in VP but doesn't show up in smooth and highlights and doesn't render out. no likey.
  6. Can anyone suggest a super hi-end materials library that is seamless? The evermotion archshaders materials library is nice but not even close to being seamless.
  7. when AEC objects, such as windows are imported to MAX, the glass and frame are imported as the same objecct and therefore the same material. is there a way to export from Autocad Architecture so that these elements remain independent from one another?
  8. andy, if i am using the following softs, which of your configs on the workstaion blog do you suggest? 3ds max 2009 64 vray 1.5 sp4 autocad 2009 i often have very large poly count max scenes, some animations. thanks!

    Any idea why my computer maxes out at 25% for 3dsmax.exe process? Is there a way I can allow for more CPU allowance? thx
  11. that worked perfectly (for detaching) but unfortunately the ucs for the subobjects are the same (not unique) thanks for the help
  12. because the ring of boxes is one object and each box is a suboject, i can;t get each one to have its own gizmo. is there a way to make all individual subobjects their own object (detach) all at once or do i have to detach or 'make unique' each box individually?
  13. cool, i think i might have that already installed.
  14. i have a bunch of rectangle shaped boxes oriented in a ring - think of a 3D dashed line around an ellipse. each box is identical but i need to scale all of them equally down. i've tried going into the modifier and selecting all 'elements' then scaling with various reference coordinate systems and pivot points but there is only one gizmo for all objects. how do i get a unique gizmo to show up on each individual object so i can scale at once? thx
  15. ahhh i get it now. i think i tried that but scrapped the method because it wasn't looking right but it looks pretty close now. i have a panasonic lumic dmc-lx3
