  1. i was given job in my office to setup a small render farm of 5 pc's with backburner and 3ds max, though i survey alot and since 8months i have been doing network rendering & during that time many times i needed file to render out fast and i was confused and eager to know how can i make render time faster and from my exp. il tell you some of points that i feel loading textures from network-makes render slow, what i did i made a texture lib in all my servers-c drive so when evenever max renders out it will go for its own c,to UNC paths needed this will help u alot, loading unloading heavy textures will make ur render slow get a fast LAN -this will send recevie jobs faster A SSD-it will boost pc read write files lot faster disable bitmap paging in 3ds max.
  2. Corey i just wanted to ask is my method of rendering is correct ??????? because we do very small fly through's,more object based animations ranging 100-400 frames
  3. what Cameron said is true but using brute force means more time which is not affordable in our firm
  4. hi i know this post is common but i wana clear some doubts ! moslt i read to use IR+LC on multiframe on IR and fly thru on LC and check dont render final, use nTh frame, image then use IR from file and turn off secondary engine ! but after many research i collected and found IR-animation prepass LC-single frame Tick dont render final image, then finally after the prepass Ir-from file Secondary engine off. i want to know whats the diff. between these methods,i usally need to render out short animations with less camera movements and few moving objects like human, objects, liquid.
  5. hello ! in our office we have 3 machines in our renderfarm and we use 3ds max 2014/V-ray 2.4?backburner 2014. the processor's of 3 machine's are i7 4770k i3 (Haswell dont know the model name) AMD fx 8350. amd pc is the master pc in which the backburner manager runs and assign job to these other pc's. but i have notices many times that i3 machine is rendering faster than the amd one.i have seen the times of each frame in the monitor and compare. but i dont think that i3 is match for fx8350.... i need to know what can be the issue ? can being a master pc,assiging jobs to another via network make it slower ? P:S- textures are saved in c drive of all 3 pc so textures are not assigned via UNC path. i have attached the pic of my monitor to show u all the time take to render each frame. pc3d=AMD user30=i7 i3=i3
