  1. Yes exactly I´m upgrading from 2014/2.0
  2. Hi, I will be upgrading to 3DS Max 2017 and Vray 3.4. I would like to know what are the main differences with previous versions. I´ve been reading some around the web, but I would like to know from a users point of view. Thank you!
  3. The white tiles not looking white can be either the camera settings or the light. Trying setting the camera to NEUTRAL, o changing the color of the light. The tiles to me look white though. Maybe making them a bit reflective will improve that. The floor also needs some reflections, bump and more depth to it. To me your scene has a big problem with the PERSPECTIVE angle, its very distorted and that makes it look unrealistic, the tiles look way too large on the walls and too small on the floor. It looks like a very tight space and its not, I think you are stretching the Film Gate parameter too far. Your materials need work, they look plain, the tiles need bump so they look real. The wood material under the sink is my biggest problem, try something else there. The little plant next to the tub is not helping at all, you can barely see it, its not helping the render, so either make a place for it or ditch it. The towels on both images look messy, the bathroom looks like its for a high end home, and the towels look cheap. The red flip flops on the right need to leave also, if you want them there find a great pair that would add more to the image, I see the Versace logo there, why not putting some Versace flip flops (Not sure if they even exist, but hope yo get the point). And finally all care products next to the sink shouldn´t be there. It all depends where are you trying to take your image, if this is the showcase of the bathroom no one wants to see mess next to a sink, you need to WOW the client, a couple perfume bottles would be enough. Its a good start, but needs more time. Hope this helps!
  4. Much better! You are in the right path. I love the glossiness of the chair. And the lamp material looks great now. If you want to take this a step further its always nice to see the ceiling. And to be completely honest the wallpaper does not look good, it doesn´t fit the style of the chair and the floor, you have very modern items and the wallpaper just doesn´t fit, I´m guessing you are trying to do a kind of eclectic style, but I´ve seen much better wallpapers that would fit perfectly your image. To me you are doing great with lighting and materials, but the styling of the interior is confusing. I see the room of a young boy who likes baseball, and its probably a small apartment because the fridge is in such a random place. So try to make it look younger. Just a thought. Al
  5. This looks good, I´m not a pro myself but I love it when people criticize my work, it inspires in some way. So, I would say the wallpaper looks a bit flat, maybe adding some reflections to it would make it pop. The material on the lamp looks odd, I would either make chrome or black, its not something you would see in real life, I don´t really know what material you were going for there. The coffee table is beautiful but it looks very dark underneath. The frame on the wall looks like a poster, it needs more depth, what I do in those cases is I separate it more from the wall to create a larger shadow behind, or add light in front of it so it gives me the look that is hanging there. I would also let more natural light in, to get nicer reflections. Would love to see if you make some changes to it. Hope this helps!
  6. Im shocked with the prices I see here. For an image like this how much would you charge?
  7. My question is how long does it take you to build an interior scene. For example an office, with like 20 workspaces, a meeting room, a cafeteria, lobby... I need to know so I can give my clients an approximation of the time I will be taking to make the project. Not the rendering time, just the whole process before that. Like making walls, windows, doors, desks, a little modeling because most the furniture I already have modeled. I guess we all make different type of scenes like the ones that look amazing with so much detail, the ones in the middle, that look good but could look better, and the simple ones. How long would you say it takes to make each.
  8. Hi, If someone who works profesionally doing renderings could please advice me into my next move. Lately I´ve had a lot of work and I was thinking to buy a new 3DSMax license and vray to work on 2 projects simultaneously. Or what sould I do? I´ve been reading on batch rendering, backburner and related stuff, but I´m not 100% sure if that would works for me. So I´d like to know how you guys work, do you use just one license and make it work, or have two, or how do you make your time more efficient. I´ve been doing this for a little over a year, and one computer was OK, but now the work load is bigger, and I know that there are PROS out there who Im sure know what is the best way to work. So please I need advice if should buy a new license, or what else?
  9. Thankyou! I tried many things and now works, I honestly don´t know what the solution was because I tried everything, except uninstalling, anyways this was helpful. I´m not completely sure, but I´m guessing the .ini file had something to with it.
  10. Help! The render setup menu ROLLOUT is missing, I don´t how it happened, it just dissapeared. I can the the top part but no the rest to the setup menu. Pleas help!!! Here`s an image so you can see what im talking about. THANKYOU!
  11. What graphics card would you recommen for Lumion?
  12. I want to learn a software to make walkthroughs of my projects, I currently use 3DS MAX but it takes way too long to make a video. Some friend told me Lumion is the best for this purpose and that it works great with 3DS MAX. So would you recommend Lumion? Is it really as fast a everyone says? Are the results good? If not what should I use and learn. Thanks!
  13. After doing some research I finally found the right way to make my ceilings look lighter. The problem was that the flooring was reflecting on the ceiling, so what I did is, selected my floor material box in the material editor, clicked on the VRAYMTL button and select VrayOverideMtl, in the GI tab I created a white VrayMtl material and done
  14. Its not that bad, I mean with some more details, better lighting and background it could work. What I would do; remove the umbrella, I haven´t seen one of those in years especially in the type of enviroment I guess you are trying to create, it looks old and its blocking some of the building which is what you are trying to show, that huge brown box its too dark, I see some detail there, but the darkness doesn`t really let me see it, the "beach chairs" are bad, they look too fake, there are better models out there, that redish stone on the left looks antiquated, it doesn´t fit the overall scene, the building looks modern so stick up to that style, maybe some concrete flooring or some grayish tiling would work better. The grass, hills and overall vegetation looks dry, pump up the colors, make it brighter. Personally when I do exteriors I use HDRI, but if not instead of showing the hills in the background I would put a wall surrounding the property and add sky. I´d like to see when your done with it, hope this helps.
