  1. This computer has windows home. Is this a problem for 3D max?
  2. Thank you very much for your valuable inputs.
  3. I am looking at a Desktop at Sams Club for 1300 dollars. It is HP 1117c. Intel i7 quad core processor with upto 3.4 ghz processing speed, 8GB RAM, 1.5 TB hard drive. Graphics card is Radeon HD 6670. I plan to use it for 3D Max renderings of single family residences or some small scale commercial projects and interior scenes. Is this graphics card good for 3D Max and vray? Will it give me decent results while working with the models in 3d max and decent rendering speed? I dont want to invest too much as I am newly venturing in to freelance work. I would highly appreciate your input.
  4. I would like to email my samples and fees. Please let me know your email.
  5. Thanks for your replies...but I am blank as before. Could you please guide me step by step on how to customize your pc. I dont even know where to start. Thanks Vrushali
  6. Hi I do not have much knowledge on what I should have in my computer to work and render fast and smooth. I have been reading some posts here but more knowledge is just confusing me more. So I was wondering if there is anywhere I can buy a good desktop which has all the good things in it or can be customized slightly. Please let me know where I can get such a thing whether on Dell or somewhere else. Thanks a lot! Vrushali
  7. very beautiful images. Which software have you used ?
  8. Hey Dennis Let me know if you have any suggestions. Vrushali
  9. I like the first one. It is very pleasing to the eye.
  10. Very encouranging words, Ernest. I am going to graduate soon and worry a lot about professional quality work. I almost sidelined the idea of learning.....cause I thought my employers would like to see results rather than train me to do something. Appreciate your thoughtful input. Vrushali
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. I do think there is a problem with the modelling of walls and ceiling and how they meet. I have gone through some other posts here talking about it. But I did not understand what is the right way to model. Could you please see the attached wireframe image of my model and comment on the modelling issue? Thanks a lot. Vrushali
  12. Hi I have been trying to get good results with radiosity for a long time now. I am getting huge light leaks. I have all the edges of wall and ceiling meeting. I have used closed spline, extruded it and converted into mesh for my walls, ceiling and floor. I thought regathering will take care of the leaks but that is not happening. There are other problems, like dark ceiling and noise. The cloth texture has artifacts even with tighter mesh and regathering. Anti-aliasing is not right at ventilator frame and some wall-ceiling edges. I have also noticed that the bump mapping looks different in different views. So I cannot use the same radiosity solution. I have to reset the bump and calculate the solution again. Attached are some views, wireframe view and radiosity settings. I am using IES Sun and IES skylight. Please advice. Thanks Vrushali
  13. Hi Acheng You can use the point light for overall lighting and turn shadows off for it. Turn shadows on for the sun. This tutorial will be helpful. It uses fakeosity i.e no radiosity only standard lights. http://www.cgarchitect.com/resources/tutorials/smoke3d/tutorial3.asp Vrushali
  14. Hello All I am trying to use radiosity for my scene. To try out i have rendered a small scene. I have applied the standard materials to all objects and trying to get them material mapped one at a time. The problem is that the materials look washed out. I have attached a fabric map i am trying to use. I have reduced the reflectance (by using enable color map in the output rollout) but it is not giving realistic look. The avg reflectance is 19%. The mesh is at 1.0m and intial quality 55%. Please help. Thanks Vrushali
  15. looks really good. You can change the sequence of books in your shelf. The identical arrangement is disturbing. Vrushali
