  1. i am almost done with the work. hope you like it and thanks for the help.
  2. i don`t know about the white dots. but maybe you get rid of the black spots by increasing hemispheric subdivisions to 80-100. maybe increase the subdivs of your light sources to 32... if it`s non of this than it would be a modelling issue (direction of normals) but first try to change the subdiv settings...
  3. thanks for the tips. here is a new one with more trees and objects to get rid of empty spaces... a little bit more contrast and less saturation in post processing.
  4. hi guys, thank you for your suggestions now i changed some textures straightend the verticals and took a burn value of 0,1 but still in linear multiply, reinhard didn`t look too good at the moment. i still have to figure out how to improve the picture, but o think it`s a little bit better already. one disturbing thing now is the texture of the inner walls of the higher building. will keep on working on it.
  5. Studio/Institution: Private Genre: Commercial Exterior Software: Vray C4d Description: Hi This is one of my first exterior renderings and so far i`m not really happy with the image because of the lack of saturation and shadows. (of course a lack of modelling detail too - empty spaces...) I used an HDRI dome light (HDRI set to SRGB) . The Vray settings are not very Special (IR-LC) GI on. LWF and 2.2 Gamma. I am not sure if the saturation is just a texture issue or if there are ways in vray to push the values up. Overall there is not enough contrast and the shadows are to week. I would be happy for any critics...
  6. I think the roof is looking a little bit to flat. there would be more shadows. you could do this with a displacement or bump map. but it`s looking good though...
  7. Studio/Institution: Personal Genre: Commercial Exterior Software: Vray C4d Description: Hi, This is one of my first exterior renderings rendered with Vray for C4d The Vray settings are pretty much default, except for gi is on, HDRI in environment tab. IR-LC... I use only an HDRI which is set to SRGB for lighting with a spherical dome light. Color mapping is linear multiply with 2.2 gamma and lwf. My problem besides the lack of modelling detail is the lack of saturation i guess. While especially the grass is very saturated all other materials are kind of washed out. (Maybe just a Texture issue?) One more thing is that i would like to have stronger shadows. Is that even possible by lighting only with HDRI? I would be happy for any critics Thanks http://forums.cgarchitect.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=52163&d=1415643988&thumb=1&stc=1
  8. Hey guys, if somebody is interested in my progress, i think i was able to improve my skills a little, i have been working on better texture and render settings For example understanding the specular layer in vray a little bit better. I found 2 realy helpfull free tutorials which are probably the best that i have found for vray for c4d. But sure you can use them for vray for max too. Here are the links: http://vimeo.com/50510866 http://vimeo.com/50507558 The rendering i`m posting is not perfect (plug socket material error etc.), i`m thankful for any critics
  9. Thank you very much! what kind of file would you need? i`m using c4d with vray.
  10. Thank you very much! I`m working with vray for cinema4d.. what kind of file can i send you? Or are you working with max and we can not exchange files!? regards
  11. Thank you both very much! Yes the lack of reflection catched my eye too! i`m working on a new rendering now and am trying to fix some problems. Those links are very helpfull too and i sure will find a lot of answers there... regards
  12. Hi guys it seems to me that i`m stuck and can`t increase my render skills at the moment. if you could give me some advice or ideas on how i can improve my skills i would be very thankfull. What i think would be important: increasing level of detail: learning how to light better some pictures have not enough contrast working with hdri? would that increase level of realsim?
