  1. Hi Claus - Have you also posted this invitation, or contacted some of the "power-users" that are regulars on ArchiCAD-talk yet? I would be more than happy to reccomend a couple, as well as nominate Ace Face right here.......... http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/index.php?sid=408629c6f204f9dffd9fd00a83d8f759 As well perhaps you could post a link to a website where ArchiCAD users could familiarize themselves with your poduct. jeff
  2. mtutaj + Stuart, I too am waiting for some sort "outline" on how you actually "use/drive/implement" this program...........any tips would be greatly appreciated.

........check Stefan's profile here and it appears to be a match. A vaulable and knowledgeable contributor! [wondering how often he's been called "dude"?] So do you know just how much Archilumos is, and where it's available in North America?
  4. I don't really have any other experience besides ArchiCAD and Vectorworks, so an AutoDesk commentary is beyond me, but if you're liking the ver 6 demo, sit down and hold on. 8.1 is light years from that and 9 actually looks even better.
  5. I was aware of some details previously but now the cat's out of the bag....... http://www.graphisoft.com/products/archicad/ac9/
  6. Excellent moniker! To elaborate on Tom's advice, only slightly, [pay attention t o him, he's on top of this program], your favorites palette can become your new best friend for alt+click alternative. With the favorite tab at the top of virtually every tool palette now the ability to set up almost everything you commonly use in one place is for me very valuable. [although I work alone, standards are still mandatory] Mine is hot keyed for quick "hide and seek". It's a great place to start your standards set-up, work with it and adjust/edit things as you need. It's a big task setting yourself up, let alone many. Be patient with yourself and your crew. If it gets ugly send for help, Link Ellis / link@archilink.net / http://www.archilink.net. This fellow came and connected many dots for me. Basically took me from a user to productive.
  7. VizWiz, Thanx fo the links to the roof textures!! I have been looking for a long time for some realistic .JPGs of roofs. These really help!
  8. Hi Only, While the solid opps is a long awaited and valuable tool I try to keep my actions the simplest method possible as often as possible. In that way to place a circular hole in a slab I would have stuck with your ver 6, magic wand method. Place a circle where you want it on the slab, with the slab selected and the slab tool active, click on the edge of the slab, select the subtraction action from the pet palette, then magic wand inside of the circle, bingo! The thing is no extra layers to shuffle, hide, or objects to accidentley modify or worse delete.

    Hi again

Hey there Only, Are you using ver 8? 8.1? If so you can go to options> preferances> miscellaneuos and check show element copy transformation commands and then al your copy commands will be available in the contextual (right click) menu. You'l be geting the best of both versions!
  10. Well it is actually a person, Link Ellis. He's a "mobile ArchiCAD specialist", tutor who comes to you basically. After several months of the self education process and still experienceing "voids" inmy understanding of ArchiCAD I broke down and called for help. He connected all the dots, and left me more efficient than I hoped possible. I NEVER stumped him! Not an experience I had had before with training of any kind.
  11. Hey Ken, If you can't spring for ArchiLINK, which I can personally reccommend unconditionally, the virtual Tutor 8 CDs are great building blocks. As with all things of this nature there are several ways to accomplish the same task and Laz's roof tips are really good! I basically self educated with the 6.5 version. http://shop.store.yahoo.com/intcad/ar8vitu2cdse.html
  12. Ken, Just a thought...........are you opening the same files. Have you tried new and reset? Same results? If so seems that the key is probably the culprit..........another thought, updateing the WIBU driver. Try posting with urgencey here: http://archicad-talk.graphisoft.com/index.php?sid=a09b608745b0a6911f51bcef8a2e1e4d good luck
  13. Thanx! Gave your suggestions a try and I have had some success. Still some trial and error to follow but I at least got something placed.
  14. Greetings--- My software guys, Graphisoft, just opened a new and more "modern" talk-board, at last. Inclusive is the ability to include avatars along wiht your profile. All well and good, x-cept this guy doesn't seem able to get the file size down low enought to allow an upload. 90 x90 pixels, 10 KB max. I have Photoshop but apperently don't know how to drive well enough yet. :???: When you get done chuckling could you please send some tips my way. T.I.A. Jefferson
  15. Cesar, I'm running ver 7 on a pc. My video card is only a 32MB and processor 1.3 Ghz. so my setup might not be the best benchmark, adequate but certainly not high-performance. I do use the marque tool to isolate what is to be redrawn to speed things up. Do You do this? I also don't think I'd ever be completely satisfied with redraw speed unless it was instantaneous. This website has a benchmarking test to see where Your setup ranks against others. http://archicad.saalmann.de/ As far as GDL goes I am preoccupied with learning how to "drive" this program with some fluid motion before I get into scripting. Sort of one step at a time mentality. Sorry i cannot be more help. you also might comb the archives of this site or even join and post. You are sure to get answers to ArchiCAD specific questions here. Good luck. http://www.escribe.com/software/archicadtalk/index.html?by=Thread Jeff
