  1. I've been given the solution on another forum. As the lines only appear on printouts rather than on screen, the problem is coming from the way that the printer receives the information from the pdf. In the print menu go to Advanced settings and check box 'print as image', this sends the PDF to the printer as a bmp image. So no need to convert the pdf's to jpg or tiff to email to the client! Cheers
  2. I often have to convert my CAD drawings to PDF to enable me to send them to customers without CAD software. These look fine on screen but when the customer prints them out they have lots of random lines appear. I have tested printing the pdf's myself and they print fine on my plotter, the problem just seems to be with printers. I have attached a section of one of the PDF's after printing, it should be obvious which lines aren't supposed to be there. Does anyone know what might be causing this?
  3. Ok...received and the model looks fantastic...very detailed. Thanks Watch this space...
  4. Ernest I have to agree with you about the piano:( ...far too basic! I use ADT at work & have just recently started learning MAX, so my modelling skills are very basic. If you could send me that piano model I'd be very grateful. Emailed you my contact details. Thanks David
  5. Thanks mbr Comments noted. I like the idea of setting up some shadows to account for the foliage outside... Changing the bg image is my last option...I love that shot, just wish I had my piano in a location like that.
  6. This is a new version of the mountain retreat I originally modelled in ADT/Vizrender. I've done some new modelling in MAX & rendered with Vray Advanced;)
  7. Yes it is definately assigned... It was actually just after I assigned it that the material previews disappeared, previously it was showing the standard grey spheres, but after assigning Vray they all went black??
  8. I've installed Vray Advanced with simian arch mats. The materials don't display in material editor, just black. They appear fine in the shaded viewport though. This applies for my standard materials aswell. Can anyone help? Thanks __________________
  9. Very nice work...good lighting & texturing The bamboo (think that's what it is) in front of the TV seems unaturally bright green, drew my eyes towards it straight away, maybe change that texture...
  10. Modelled in ADT / VizRender Project to show the presentation facilities in a cafe - part of a series
  11. I changed some of the settings to increase the quality & remove the grainyness: Initial quality = 96% Rays per sample = 150 Filter radius = 10 I think this is ready for the rest of the entourage... Rendering time on this was ridiculous...my kingdom for a vray engine!!
  12. This is my latest update - I've modified some of the textures and sorted out the mapping issues. The lighting and the radiosity settings have remained the same. I need to add the plants and the lecturn. I'm still not happy with the grainyness of the rendering, is there something in the radiosity settings that could improve it? Thanks
  13. I've checked all the lights and it doesn't seem to be possible to create a rectangular target light in VizRender despite the help files saying that you can. As a solution to this I will create a self emitting texture mapped on the projector screen...
  14. I need to simulate a projector & screen in a visualization. Is it possible to create a rectangular projected image in VizRender? The Spotlights don't seem to have an option to make them rectangular:confused: , is there another way? Cheers
  15. No GI in Vizrender unfortunately, I'm relying on my radiosity solution...
