Hi guys ok i think ive had enough - ive been puttigng up with it but time to try and put a stop to it. Windows 10 automated updates and restarts. How can we stop (or control) this? I leave my pc on at work only to find at times that it restarts and ive lost my renderings..... anyone else having this issue and how they address it? Cheers guys

hi guys - i have a project where it calls for a rammed wall texture as per the attached - not sure how to tackle this or how to create it? The only option i feel at this stage is to go somewhere to take some photos of it The panels will be around 4 x 2 metres or so any help would be much appreciated

Hi all Im moving to a shared office space and i obviously want to protect my files. Does anyone have any tips on what i should do? I will obviously lock my pc when i leave the office for the day but not sure what else to think of? I have 4 hard drives in my PC so is there a way to lock them also somehow? Is there anything else i should be thinking of? Cheers

In short - from my experience, no (This is my main workflow). You HAVE to manually fix all of the reversed faces/overlapping etc etc. There is a plugin to cleanup such geometry but its not foolproof and at times can make things worse. Generally, when i receive sketchup files, i only use them as a reference and remodel the whole thing so i avoid any artifacts/mishaps.

Hi Carlos Thanks for sharing it looks great. Ive always wanted to get into it but like many, struggle with trying to find the time to research and learn it. Im a 3DS Max Vray/Corona user mainly. If you can help guide me where to learn it that would be great and really appreciated. May i ask how long that took you to do?

I was getting sore wrists from your conventional mouse so i purchased an evoluent vertical mouse 4 - best investment ever. It has a natural holding position - like a handshake and all my pain now gone! couldnt recommend this highly enough. Has an extra button which i use as a double click - so 1 click makes it double click - and you know as well as i do how much we clickety click my 2 cents....

Its not a mistake - check your color mapping options. you either burn your gamma in or you dont.

just check that your building is the right size (ie that the heights of the room are right, ie 3000mm not 300mm) - if its out of scale it will cause you problems. Yes, with skyportals, you dont even need the sun on. You can leave it off to simulate an overcast'ish condition. so if you leave it on 0.1 or even lower - it will be fine. NOW - you must do tests in colour because it will be different when you use solid textures.

that looks better - just change your white balance on camera. Put a white sphere in middle of room and set colour to 255. Do a quick render and then go to camera settings and do custom color balance and color pick the ball (try and pick the most common diffuse colour on it if that makes sense) and then drop the whiteness value about 20%. It could also be your scene units. Are they correct?

ok sounds silly, but can you try changing to reinhard and put 0.1 in 'burn value' vray plays funny buggers with me at times.... so try that

do save as and click the override and put 1.0

i also see 2 portals on the outside... put them inside and set to simple

lower it even more.... dont be shy to go to 0.1 or lower.... show me your color mapping settings in the setup
