  1. Had the same "red tint" issue but not sure which V-Ray version that was. No matter what setting I tweaked or change, this "red tint" was there only to piss me off. All I know it was gone only after I reset my render settings to default.
  2. Hello, I'm in the process of making a single windows 10 image with all software installed. After I run sysprep on it I would like to distribute it on all other render nodes. So I am looking for a way to do this over the network. I don't want to do every single machine and restore an image with bootable media. None of them has peripherals anyway. I do know PXE exists but I just can't find the right software to make it work. And I need it to be 100% unattended, because like I said they have no access to peripherals. Any ideas?
  3. I want to put my hands on a GTX 1070 for some Vray-RT rendering and I have some questions before I do so: 1. I do realize I better have a dedicated GPU for viewport so my question is will my good old GTX 770 will work? Or I need to get my self another Pascal card? 2. If I do need another Pascal card... how is the GTX 1050ti for 3dsmax? Or a GT 1030? I remember the GTX 750ti was great for that a few years back but I don't know where to put it in relation to the new cards. 3. Is it really worth it? rendering in Vray-RT with just one single GTX 1070? Is there some kind of benchmark with Vray-RT?
  4. Hello, I hope this is not a rare request because I can't believe I am the only one who need this. So.. usually I leave the office with the batch render process running. Camera Batch Render does the job just fine with saving the images and I also set a post-render script to shutdown the workstation and the render nodes. Anyway, I also would like to receive an email notification after the render is done. The reason for this is there been a couple of times that I came back to work in the morning to find out no rendering was done because a power blackout interrupted the entire process.. So anyone have an idea how to makes this or have a working script?
  5. This is a great suggestion. I tried "Glue". Unfortunately, because of just the way it works, it will not allow you to align selected vertexes as it applies for the whole spline. I researched a bit more and found I can use this script instead of Glue. Thanks for the help!
  6. Here, view these image. They illustrate, more or less, what I need. Anyone aware of such plugin/script/method?
  7. Normalize Spline modifier does not keep the the vertexes, X/Y position. All it does is keep the Start/End vertexes. I need the selected vertexes Z coordinate to be placed/distributed "averagely", while maintaining their exact X/Y coordinates. And without "smoothing" the spline.
  8. ok so i have this little task needed to be done. I have a specific set of vertexes that needs to be evenly placed along the Z axis. Is there an option to select a bunch of them in editable spline or poly (lets say 100 out of 1000) set a minimum Z, set a maximum Z, and all vertexes within selection will evenly distribute between those set parameters? --EDIT-- Here, view these image. They illustrate, more or less, what I need. Anyone aware of such plugin/script/method? I'm looking for something similar to Get in Line! but for splines.
  9. That's because you are now supposed to use the 3dsmax Physical Camera with V-Ray.
  10. Consider the red's new RX 480 that will be out next month.
  11. I ended up getting a great deal for two i7 6700 nodes. At stock speeds each perfroms more or less as the 3930K so I guess its not bad.
  12. I have a pretty much simple task which I have never needed to be done before. I need to render the same object with 3 different cameras, but the object must be placed in different locations for every camera. Note that I cannot use frames. Is it possible with scene states or state sets or whatever other confusing name Autodesk came up with?
  13. Naturally I will keep the previous machine as a render node. Its not going to the trash. But you guys say its pointless to go from a 3930K to a 5820K, so I just wait for next gen processors or buy a machine to be a render node
  14. Corsair H100i 77.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler. I don't want a pentium for 3d modelling. I need a single machine for both modeling and rendering. Me keeping the 3930K as a render node is just a bonus.
  15. Thank you. You must are right, I should probably wait for the new processors. I did overclock my chip to 4.3Ghz , just forgot to mention it. Its the best I could get to keep it under 75 degrees under full load. Yes i'm not in a rush to upgrade. I should wait for the next gen like numerobis suggested. But how will a oc'd 6700K vs a oc'd 5820K?
