  1. At the moment my beams and columns are straight - but thank you for the tip for curved beams.
  2. I am looking for a good wood material to use on glue laminated columns and beams. Best practice on how to apply the texture would also be appreciated.
  3. Was expecting that answer ;-) was actually looking for a wider range of lowpoly people (any price below $10 is fine). The polycount is most important.
  4. Hope this is the right forum.... Does anyone know a good place to look for low-poly people (in 3ds, dwg, or vrmesh format)? Detail level like these: https://3docean.net/item/low-poly-posed-people-pack/12669723
  5. Looking at the 1070 model - could there be any issues with a Fujitsu W550 Power that I should be aware of? - and what about 3DS MAX (currently working on version 2013 with vray 2.0). There is about 30 different GTX1070 cards - what should I look for here? Should I be worried if the card is not on autodesk's list of certified hardware?
  6. Hi I am looking for a simple wood material use on my architecture wooden grid model (beams and columns). I would like to avoid having to map every face. Many columns are seen from a distance.
  7. I live in Denmark and was recommended to buy a not-too-expensive pc and then upgrade it with RAM and graphic card. My problem is that the graphic card concumes a lot of watt and many factory build pc's don't have much power. Did look at HP too - but could not find a model with enough power....
  8. Hi All Looking for a good configuration of a new workstation for Revit/3DS max (with high poly models) and has been looking at: Fujitsu M740 with a GTX980TI of some kind and some extra RAM. (this is my price range). How much RAM should I go after? Which graphic card is preferred? - and what about the Watt consumption. Do I need 600W powersupply for a 600W graphic card?
  9. How would the setup look if I do not need the leaded dividers? (not tried blend maps before)
  10. I am looking for a way to create a glass facade with translucent paint - like a church window with a motive. I have to bitmaps: one with the motive in color and one with a black/white copy of that motive to cut out areas where the glass should be full transparant. But I cannot make it work. Any guidelines are much appreciated. Jesper
  11. Hi I am using a lot of AutoCADs curtain walls rendered in 3DS with vray. My problem is that the glass edges are on exact same location as the mullions and frames, which give me splotches on all my glass edges. I have tried to change the exit color of my glass with no luck. Does anyone have a good trick to fix this with? Should I work with the glass material or try to find a modifier to my geometry? - I cannot change the way that AutoCAD makes the geometry of the glass panels and therefor I can offset the glass 1mm to avoid this issue. Regards, Jesper
