  1. Get the info of the net can be hard especial if you not sure what the correct term is for what you want to doing so yer its not a bad idea at first but most of the time i have a real issue that is not solved by a 30min google search the question is a little more complex like they really would need to be a Pro at whatever it is..... And assuming there pro they should get pro rates which would surely make this rather pricey after you speculate company cut and the percentage of the time there not working..... That all said i have no problem with people paying for technical information.... not sure why anyone should!!
  2. I don't think there are many comparison reviews out there which actually compare the card let alone ones that will give you a comparison for Vray RT or Iray performance.... awhile ago admittedly I did some looking around for comparisons of GTX cards to Quadro and i could not find any decent comparison.....(maybe i just missed them)
  3. Had to find staff in Australia.... lol I find that had to believe.... That said finding quality staff in Au is probably a fair bit harder...I don't know what its like in america or Europe but in Australia most of the course/uni degrees are only 2-3 years.... can imagine many of the student get too far learning more than the basics! especially seeing most of the course seem to try and cover game design, modeling, animation and rendering!! Maybe advertise in Canada lol i'm told all the good student from au that cant find a job here go there!! GL hope you find the man of your dreams
  4. 1. Adobe will be fine with the lastest GPU's AMD or nvidia (geforce)..... people always point to these list but they really don't mean much all they really say is that Abobe finally was bothered to tested X product on X graphics card and it worked..... nm the GPU if you want to be worried about something worry about the drivers. 2. Vram and Vray RT really not very knowledgeable on this however i'm told that Vray RT is meant to load all your textures (and geometry??) into it like it would with ur MB ram if you where doing a normal render. I still don't fully understand this as i have seen plenty of complex seen successfully test rendered on a old GTX 480 which only has 1.5gb of ram however when doing the final render Vray would happily use tons more ram than just 1.5gb. I understand that RT at least back then would not load everything but I would have thought if both are required to load nearly all the textures (and Geometry??) that the amount of ram required would have been similar but obvious not since until recently most gpus really only had a few GB of memory yet people have been happily using RT for a while without some massive Vram discussion on forums like this.. So yes I would normally recommend just get the newest one (gtx 980m) no questions..... however until someone cant properly explain what Vray RT usage of Vram is, its had to recommend as it could seriously limit your scene complexity..... so Get the 880m 8gb unless someone can explain Vram and Vray RT.. And yes Geforce all the way imo
  5. agreed! however I'm fairly certain that all 4k monitor suffer from pretty bad input lag which makes them pointless for any competitive gaming...... essentially what this mean is the period of time till you see what happen on your screen is delayed so it cant be great for anything but the impact is far less in 3dsmax than csgo...... for most people just doing vis this really is admittedly not a big issue however its not like it great like 40hz!! I would wait a bit maybe windows 10 will fix it!
  6. I don't have one but yer the scaling is meant to be a real issue if you want 4k go 32inch apparently its bearable..... I currently run 27inch 1440p as do most people here i assume I personally think the text icon ect are already small enough if not a tad on the small side. At 4k 27inch with out scaling everything would be half the size..... the text on this website would be like 5pt.... so yes the scaling would simply be to much of a hassle.... obviously on the web browsers it not such an issue but i'm sure Vray would become absolute hell!! in summery what does 4k give you ATM - Terrible scaling issues - Bad input lag (for gamers) - Bad refresh rate commonly 40hz (cant be good for movies or games) - Expensive graphic card requirements - Overpriced monitor On the plus side you get a awesome image if you want a new monitor look at getting a 9:21 34inch screen (in a month or 2 currently have bleeding issues) or just a standard 27-30inch screen as there becoming quite cheap. If you must get 4k go 32inch!!!
  7. I agree with Dimitris ...... If that does not work try a clean install of drivers... there are bit of software out there to help you remove everything however as i run AMD gpu's i dont have any recommendations.... to do a proper full uninstall you will need to. 1. uninstall drivers 2. run some software to remove all files left/registry files (or i do not recommend this) Manual go through your pc and delete all related files a google search will give you a list! GL 3. Check that the full uninstall was successful - one easy way to check this is to see if you pc just view your gpu as a Generic GPU if it still says its a titain X just uninstall the GPU drivers until its generic 3. re install and pray to the pc gods! If your uncertain think there is a good guild on OCN.net
  8. That mouse that you have is seriously heavy just get a light mouse ~90g or less and (i would) change sensitivity of your mouse so you only ever move it a few inches 2-6 inch........ or maybe your just working to much and you just need to replace that mouse with a beer If you want additional buttons get a Logitech mouse G402 G502 If you just want just mouse get whatever the CSgo community is recommending they seriously care about mice!
  9. It will say in the MB manual just download it from there website...... but really any ram should work.....
  10. You need to get a bigger PSU I would go for at least 1200W!!
  11. lol fair enough maybe add a or something maybe i'm slow but that was not obvious....... Nice renders BTW.... impressive work!!
  12. lol Francisco Penaloza don't you know you need to have more than 1k post for anyone on this forum to respectfully take notice of your posts..... even if they just repeat what you say like use ArchiCAD and Cinema 4D...... but hey you probably have already noticed that....... anyway respect for the effort. But please note this is probably coming from a - "morons who think they know everything than experienced users who donate their precious time to help others" Tom Livings Anyway joke aside back the the OP question, OP unless your willing to spend large amounts of time exporting and rendering I personally would just stick within Archicad....... I know the quality is nowhere near what even the average VRay used can do but if you are planing as i understand it to do lots of 3d renders to accompany your plans i think it would just be quicker to do the renders in Archicad and then just seriously polish them in PS.... I assume you are beautifying your plans in PS aswell...... However if i misunderstood you and you want high quality renders and you are aware of the time it will take well obviously follow what everyone else has been recommending!! GL OP hope the mac are as good as Juraj Talcik says they are! And btw a good architectural plan is beautiful not ugly imo
  13. That is not worth 10K unless your willing to pay for Artistic work...... Beautiful build!
  14. One last thing if you really want it to last 4 years make sure you get a decent MB warranty they always seem to go first from what i've seen.... Maybe everyone I know is just unlucky.... or maybe its because we all bought Asus MB's
  15. yer I would just ignore your IT specialist..... BUT 1. Getting IT guy in AU to do anything is pricey if your not going to throw it together expect a large Price tag - ( check PCcasegear and Mwave- Both offer i think $100 assembly and are extremely reliable) 2. Getting other people to OC you PC in Au is even more expensive guess they have to make a living somehow - but if your doing a small OC its in general extremely easy don't be intimidated. If the price difference is not worth 1-3h of your time get the more expensive processor. 3. For any large OC say 4.7ghz-5ghz sure you can open up a bit of a can of worms but if 4.4 is as easy as people say I would not worry about it. 4. Its really quite hard to destroy a CPU these days OCing unless you force it to do ridicules things the protection and warnings on most MB and CPU makes it impossible to stuff up........ unless your colour bind those reds and greens 5. Lower temp - What BS maybe once OC they will have similar temps not that temps are really a problem these days http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Intel/Core_i7-5960X_5930K_5820K_Comparison/6.html Better grade silicon - Complete BS - I don't have any proof for you but I wouldn't believe it for a second - Maybe he gets a good commission on the 5930k Other wise, PSU 1000w is a bit much 800-700w should be plenty and I personly would never recommend Antec - Try Corsair or Seasonic SSD's I like Samsung these days and i personally world not bother With M2 (But I know little about it) From a Price to performance point larger SSD are getting quite cheap don't bother with two just get one big one! As for OC warranty in general Intel rarely refuses to replace a cpu due to OCing damage (primarily because it quite hard to tell) But for ease of mind or if you want to see it you can reach 10Ghz get one of these http://click.intel.com/tuningplan/catalogsearch/result/?q=5820k for $25 Intel will replace your CPU after you set it on fire..... they have that much faith in your OC that they only want $25 - btw not sure how long this last think its just the usual warranty period! Anyway i'm sure someone has already said all of this by now i'm just a really slow type! GL mate
