Sweet! I feel like that happens all the time... where your issue is just some little tick box buried in a menu somewhere that you forgot to check haha.

Try ticking off 'hardware acceleration' under advanced denoiser parameters. I was having the same issue and that fixed it. According to the hover menu info for that tick box, "Use the OpenCL version of the denoiser, if possible. Fall back to CPU if OpenCL is not available."
