  1. out of fairness i'd like to state that juan guided us through the manual installation of the x64 plug for solidworks and it now runs nicely
  2. okay the x64 solidworks plug is unuseable..we could switch to x64 maya or rhino..which of the two has less bugs...so you can get the job done? thanx for your insight
  3. i miss the old beta days - nights actually we had some good loughs. so did that maxwell release party ever happen?
  4. sorry--doublepost to be fair..c just saw the manual installation zip provided by juan..hope it'll work
  5. long time no see livoli! well the 64bit installs in the x86 folder and the x64 solidworks plug-in does not work...all but carmen's log-in are blocked - and she cannot write post..so no FW thread this time
  6. sad thing is NL won with their tactics not to communicate. no one still has the energy to get them to communicate - litigations are way too costly and timeconsuming - they knew that too, so they don't worry 'bout that thinking 'hey we already got your money, what do we care?. and they're loughing their a**es off in their office 'bout mislead ppl like me (a fact). adding to this i read solidworks premium 2007 adds (besides the routing and cosmosworks add-in) now even the cosmosmotion add-in. great! i paid 24'000$ for those plugs seperately..and now they're basically included in a simple 2500$ upgrade from SWX office professional..so i just lost another 22'000$..great week
  7. wow! we're really drowning in information since RC5 was released ...could someone post any news on RC6 or V1 as soon as they appear here (cuz NLs e-mails rarely land in my inbox) ..i'm bored checking the maxwell site for any clues cuz even the other posts are a bore..thanx
  8. juan's answer Internally MXI has a bit depth of 64 bits per channel, so this is already supported but not in a standard format. When it is stored to disk the resolution is reduced to 32 bits to be compatible with hrdi and other 32 bits standard formats. Hdri output will be available soon, this is one of our priorities.
  9. what's going on? i thought mverta's masterclass would be 45 pages long by now..i just ckecked..2 pages..duh..i also hoped NL would take their heads out of the sand again (as there aren't too many complaints, so the mood isn't as bad as it was from rc1 ro rc4)..even tom is more boring than usual (he misses 8etty i guess)
  10. sorry smth off topic..3d scanner for 2500$ just revealed at solidworks world 2006 https://www.nextengine.com/indexSecure.htm
  11. will we have 32 bit outputin rc6 or V1 or much later? so many things have been promised..i lost track..what's the policy on that? i hate it when at the end of the render mxw throws away all the image information it uses when calculating..could somebody ask..they won't give ME an answer
  12. a wonderful caricature of tomcat by john kricfalusi (cartoonbrew archives 2005/08)...i don't like the other caricatures he did but this one is marvelous:)
  13. but at least now NL released rc5 their communication is back to what it was in january 2005..mwuaaahhaa nah..seriously..i hoped to learn lots of useful stuff by reading the rc5 posts..yet the only insight i got was..set burn to 0.8..okay maybe two or three more things. i haven't played with rc5 yet as i wanted to learn more just by reading posts (what else can i do ) but not much info..will it just take more time for users to learn or isn't there much to learn actually...i mostly see old scenes rendered again..luckily i haven't seen a mathmodel YET!
  14. there is something wrong with that smiley -> it has not two front teeth but one..and it always reminds me of tom cruise:)
