  1. Hello everyone, I have modeled few exteriors using photo reference and have done quite well. So i taught why not give a try modeling it with a CAD plan so went to a construction company website downloaded the plan and started modeling it. I know how to use unit setup and so far i have done everything in a correct scale. What will actually be there between the 2 floor, technically would you call it just a floor, Or is there any other technical name for that? My problem is i am working in a multi story building how much thickness should i keep between these two floors? I created the walls using splines and extruded them to 10' so it's a 10' tall ceiling if i copy the floor and stack up it looks quite un-realistic.. I tried my best to explain it, Looking for a help thanks
  2. Try searching for Greeble or SciFi Pattern Generator at scriptspot.. Not sure whether this is the one your searching for...
  3. Thanks for the brief explanation Chris MacDonald I heard about Xref's but haven't used them, I saw this video now which really showed the power of xref.. So basically you are saying to model buildings, furniture's and vegetation in separate file, for example if the site has 6 block of apartment with each block containing 6 floors. Model each block in a separate file and use xref's to link individual file to the master plan which has roads and vegetation alone, Am i correct? Should i use the same method for the exterior furniture's and props too, even if they have only few of them? And for the vegetation which one should i go for vrayproxies or xref's, I've been using vrayproxies for quite a long time to populate scenes with vegetation's, can i continue using proxies or i should go for xref, i use forest pack lite for scattering.. My biggest confusion is almost solved now thanks again for pointing me about Xref's :)
  4. Hello guys i want to create a walkthrough for my portfolio something similar to this it's going to be a group project.. I haven't created an exterior walkthrough but i have made one interior walkthrough so far, here it is it's my first interior walkthrough, browse through my channel and take a look at some of my 3d works:) i am trying to improve my skills.. My questions are: 1: How do you manage such a big plan with materials, models and vegetation 2: Should i create everything in a one single file including vegetation's and models, light and render everything in the same file, Or first model everything in a single file, Place camera's animate them and split the file according to the camera's by saving them as separate files and then place lights for every file and render them individually? How not to get caught when there is a reflective object like window, carpaint etc, in front of the camera when using this method.. 3: Here in India i have heard some of my friends working in archviz field say that only few companies come up with the elevation plans for their projects, Many people only give a floor plan and an master plan as an PDF or an high res image, Is it true? They have managed to create some good exteriors with just the floor plan alone, Can you make 3d elevations just with the floor plan and use our own imagination to decorate & stylize the exterior of the buildings? I love doing archviz but these kind of technical things confuse me a lot.. Looking for help.. Thanks My pc configs are: i7 4770k with 16gb RAM and an basic AMD 4600 series graphic card..
  5. Thank your for your feedback Nicolai Bongard .. I'll improve these from my next walkthrough'.. I am having some doubt on rendering exterior walkthrough, I am planning to make a walkthrough animation something like this Should i separate the files for each and every camera and change the lighting to suite the scene or use one single massive file with all the buildings, vegetation and render everything in that same file? Because i can see so much attention has been given to those landscape shots and for me i think it's nearly impossible to render everything in one single file. And can i make an exterior with just a floor plan alone without an elevation plans? Because one of my friend said that some clients won't come up with an elevation, they use to give him only a floor plans. He has to extrude the floor plans and create the exteriors using his idea. Is that true? I love doing archviz but these kind of small technical things makes me confuse

  7. Hey guys. How do i work with a 27 acre township with lumion? I have done all the building models in 3ds max and each building is approx 1,20,000 polys and totally there will be 30 main buildings and 1 club house (vegetation and other decorative objects not included) How do i work with such a big project in lumion, Also at first i need to have an aerial view shot, Should i create a separate low poly of an entire project for the Aerial view shot.. Looking for some tips, Thanks
  8. Hello people, I am new to walkthough animations, I have done some image renders. I am planning to make a township walkthrough animation in 3ds max and vray for my demo. I am looking for a output similar to this i have individual floor plans and and entire site plan, But no elevation plan. looking at the video at first glance i taught it should have been rendered with vray and post-production in after effects, but looking closely at the character animations and it's looks doesn't feel like it's rendered with vray, Do you think it's done with lumion? Because i see some animations that 3ds max populate tool don't have. Like kids playing in the play area etc., Looking for some help, Thanks
