  1. thanx buddy. just what i was looking for.
  2. Anyone knows if there is a way to cutout/slipe a model using a spline? Im thinkin of the effect as slice or cur, when it closes the vertexes, if you understand? Please look at attachment. You can easily do this in archicad. But cant seem to find the solution here. Any idea??
  3. Please look at attachment. Im pretty new to this. This is just a project im working on and i want to try to learn post production from this image. Is this image good enough to be a starting point for post production? And suggestions what i might to to make this "complete". Its exr with layers as shadows, alpha, spec, refl, refr, and depth. I like the finish on the other image. Is this possible with the basics in image one? Cheers Petter
  4. can any one recommend a good book for 3ds max? i want to learn to model architecture stuff in 3ds max. and render with vray. i usually use archicad at work, but want to be able to import this to 3ds max. and use max to render scenes. both exterior and interior cheers Petter
  5. Hei peeps. Look at attachment. I got this model of a pretty big terrain. And a model of the road. All imported from archicad. The road is a slab. The terrain is made from architerra, and SOSI info. i want to be able to make the model of the road fit the terraing. Almost "glue" it to the surface. doing this makes it look strange because of small diffrences in the hight of the terrain, where the "road" hits. making it follow the terrain and not making the road surface horizontal straight. hope u understand what im writing. anyone have a good ide how i can do this? you can see the second attachment. i made the roads, but this way with splines and each road segment as one object, fitting the terrain to it with push and pull. but this was VERY time consuming. and connecting the roads with verticles. Any tips and tricks. Been searching google and youtube, but not the ideal solution for me. maybe one of you have a good solution for this? Please help Cheers Petter
  6. great buddy. thanx. ill try this. have a great weekend. petter

  8. aha. okay i will try this tomorrow. pretty new in 3ds max you see. and yes i am having huge problems with gamma, which i dont understand. should i use 3ds max standard lut and gamma? 1.0 or 2.2? and where are all the other gamma settings? im also trying to you hdri images as lightning and background. i bought the complete vizpark bondle with all this. But none seem to get any good. I think its the gamma on these also. i tried adjusting the cameras settings, but there is always something wrong. i even cant get the white ish material override to be any good. but these i have at 255 "white". i will try to adjust this. what nr do you recommend for a white material override? 0-255. cheers petter
  9. Please look at attachment. Im having a hard time finding the solution. Im rendering a big scene with 3ds max 2015 and vray 3.2. Ive put together a big scene with houses in a field. Using imported objects from archicad, and used forest pack pro for the rest. The scene looks pretty good. BUT, i can see my objects "reflecting" too much. As you can se the houses gets to much color from the ground, (green) and the reflect very much of the color of the bacony on top of the garage (yellow) u can see in the two houses in the back. Any one know the solution to this? Please help, because this is what make me not finish the project. Cheers Petter
