  2. Thanks for the sharing, Jamie. Great tutorial. MultiMatte elements are very helpful, especially if clients demanding exact rendering of colors of materials. BTW: though the number of material IDs is restricted from 0 to 15 in the material editor, good news, we can install the plugin which allows to Material IDs from 0 to 255. Check out http://www.lastjedioutpost.ru/?l=en&p=effectschannelex&s=description. The version for 3ds Max 2017 is applicable for 3ds Max 2018 too.

  4. Hi Avi, 3Ds Max/Vray/AutoCAD/Photoshop and sketch up is a pretty good software set for creating professional 3d renderings. I even don't use sketch up in my work. Your wife might be interested what is composition and postproduction, so she can learn how to use Photoshop for it, or Blackmagic Fusion, or Nuke instead of it. I love Blackmagic Fusion because it's easy to work in. She can really learn Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw to draw some splines and textures. In many cases drawing complex splines in Corel Draw and importing them in 3ds Max is easier than creating splines directly in 3DS Max. Of course, if she'll decide to work in the interactive niche, she should learn UE. Knowing the rest of software isn't necessary if she already knows 3DS Max. Good luck with learning software!

  8. Hi friends. I have created simple scene without textures, ies, proxies, etc. and rendered it by two computers using v-ray distributed render. When Irradiance map was calculating, buckets rendered by computer with running V-Ray DR spawner was darker than buckets rendered by computer with running 3ds max application. When I was running render on computer used as slave machine and V-Ray DR was running at first machine, problem was same. When rendering of this scene runned on each computer without distributed render, renders are the same. 3dsmax Gamma options on both machines are the same. Both machines have installed windows 7, 3ds max 2015, Vray 3.20. Can anybody help me?
