Hey everyone, I have an issue when merging Evermotion models in my Max 2015 scene ....the are merged as groups of several meshes and not as a single mesh as when merging them with Max 14 or older As you need to ungroup the merged tree and then attach all meshes together, textures look wrong despite you accept to preserve the ID of the materials when attaching. Thanks in advance.

  3. in your task manager..can you see the CPU usage per core? you ough to see 6 cores running, are them not reaching 100%?, if not reaching 100% when rendering it means that you vray is not set or installed properlly. on the other hand, if they reach 100% and your render is still slow then your vraysettings are wrong. btw, set you dynamic memory to only 3000 and not 6000.
  4. thx Joseph, it has been a great help. we certainly did not know the newest version did not work with DR ....hell. the other architects in the company do not mind much not having the DR working. we will wait until a new fix or version is released .... just wonder how in earth they sale & release something that does not work properlly???!!! cheers
  5. what are u'r specs? I know win i7 needs to know how much memory u'r assigning to vray. have u made sure u have set the vray to match u'r specs? can u see u'r CPU usage per core?
  6. apologies...I did post this question in the sketchup forum but nobody has answered, so I try here. got a new job. in the new company I work now they use Sketchup to render architecture and we have the following problem (I can make it work with max myself): _______________________________________________________________________ - Sketchup 7 Pro - Vray for sketchup 1.84 we can not make vray "distributed rendering work" despite having the DRSpawner running on each machine, have found & resolve the server (other computers in the network), have the same sketchup version & same vray in all machines. any tip? we can make vray distributed rendering work with max using the specific scrip for it, tho we do beleive there is no script for sketchup to be used... rigth? any help would be very appreciated. regards, Eric

  12. set your ligth cache to a low figures, default is 1000, try with 500 or even less, or simply try lowering other figures in you ligth cache settings until you see a faster calculation....difficult to judge if there is no pic/s of you are doing. helt og lykke
  13. evermotion trees mats have many times very high subdivisions and it makes any 64bit machine slow. I'm amost sure your mat's subdivisions are 20 or even more, unless you are making a close up of the trees & leafs, simply set the subdivisions to 8. it would still look very nice and it would render 70% faster. other choise is to not to use evermotion trees, nowadays there are many HQ free trees in the net, use them. using vrayscatter or any other max scatter is perhaps the best option is your are having several or many trees, as the scatters make instances, you should not have problems with huge render times. have you set the dynamic memory of your vray 64bit according to the amount of cores you got installed? ufff...it could be many othe things that slow your rendering. good luck
  14. Hey Carlos thx for the info. Have tried Forest Pack 3.3 LIGHT ...great tool, realy. I see mantalray & vray are fully supported and it works fantastic. Just wonder, can it be used with Max 2010 or 2011? same for the Pro version? saludos Eric
