  1. Updated. Any other suggestions are welcome! thanks
  2. thanks George, "I would fix that corner where everything is getting washed out. I would fake it and make sure the wood is separated from the white - especially because that's happening right in the middle of the rendering." yes, its burned in the original outpout. I need to make the wood darker.... yes, the rug is very dark. Need to put a more bright material. there are no artificial lights, except the lamps. I put some but the client, took them off. I will make another version of this scene for my portfolio. Any other suggestions are welcome! thanks
  3. Thanks Alain, The client wanted a more washed image. I agree with your comments. In this update, for my preference, I added more contrast, change the outside and add a warm filter. Now, I dont know what else can change... jejeje Any other suggestions are welcome!
  4. Studio/Institution: VisualPieces Genre: Residential Interior Software: 3ds max, Vray, Photoshop Website: http://www.visualpieces.com/ Description: Hi! I need some suggestion and critique about this residential interior. I would greatly appreciate any constructive comments! thanks!
  5. I'm trying IRR Medium with 70/40, maintaining the DMC image Sampler in 1-8, aaagggrrrr, the same flickering! and times are 3x!! this is a headache I will definitely come back to put pyramidal filtering in opacity maps! Will test 30 frames this way and post settings and video. thanks
  6. all started here, when I try the cleaner script http://forums.cgarchitect.com/77322-cleaner-script-texture-filtering-reduces-50-rendering-time-but-change-colors.html after this, my animations were with pyramidal filtering in opacity maps, and I have a few flickering, but acceptable, with medium settings. When you disable the pyramidal filtering, rendering times are aprox. 50% less. So, I'm trying to find a point in the middle. I will apreciate any other help... thanks
  7. I also tried IRR Medium 50/25 every 10 frames, with the same results. I will try IRR Medium with 70/40, maintaining the DMC image Sampler in 1-8. how you change "your filtering to Area for the rest of the image"? thanks
  8. now im having horrible flickering... http://forums.cgarchitect.com/77369-flickering-trees.html i will appreciate your comments thanks
  9. Hello, Im having problems with flickering in trees. Attached are my settings, and here is the video: https://www.mediafire.com/?479cijrqzs2e2sc The filtering for bitmaps of leaves are set to none. Units: meters/meters. Avg. task time: 4:04 on 3770k. (Quarter of image, only trees, the whole frame with all elements should be 25/30 min) 3ds max 2012 x64, Vray 2.30. Also i have tried with IRR Medium 50/25, and the DMC image Sampler in 1/16, with the same results... What need to change to avoid flickering? (at reasonable rendering times) Thanks in advance!
  10. No. In this scene, for long distance: it speeds up rendering, 50% faster. close up stills: the same rendering time. Now I understand what this script does. It changes filtering for bitmaps from pyramidal to none. I run a 60 frames animation with my historical proved settings and it sucks. Much flickering! Now Im testing 2 animations, one after script, and another before script to have my conclusions. post it later... thnx
  11. thanks for your reply Macker, "I strongly suspect that the specific thing that has caused the massive increase in speed is disabling filtering on the opacity maps on the leaves. " it don't disables opacity maps... I use 4 models of trees. Two leaves have opacity, and two don't. (see attachment) the blur in opacity maps is 0.01, (and before also) I try a close up render and the time don't change, and neither the colors, but yes at the distance. (50% less) So, always have to disable filter maps and filters maps for GI in the vray global switches? im worried about flickering in animations, i will try a few frames. thanks!
  12. Hello, It´s a wip scene im working on, very basic at this time. Usually I made 8/10.000 frames of projects like this, so rendering time per frame is super important for me. Im trying the Cleaner script by Andreas Meissner. http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/cleaner (Win 7 64 bits. Max 2012 x64. Vray 2.40 on 4790k processor) I run all options, all perfect, my scene is “0” problems in the script. The only thing is the “texture filtering” option. Before this option, my frame @1920x1280 took 10:07 min. After it, it takes 5:49 min. (Almost 50% less!!) (see attachments) I’m super happy, it’s my year´s discovery!!! But the colors of trees have changed! Questions: What exactly does the “texture filtering” option? It’s ok if it only changes the color, I can modify again, but will be extra flickering in animations? Thanks! wolts http://www.visualpieces.com
  13. thx! and now the 3 down lights are fixed. thx for your comments!
  14. yes, the cars are dosch, the old ones jejeje dont have time to make proxy the 2004/5/6 ones... let me tell something about this job... the client give me 2 days for doing it, i use 1 day for modelling and texturing, the second day he ask for a sunset illumination... very transparent, i spend all night of the second day working in the illumination, it was 6 am and i went to sleep and let it in the backburner. i wake up at 9 am and sent this first image to him, he saw it with his superior and at 12 am, 3 hours left told me... "hey w., lets do it as daylight..." jaaaaaaaaaa i want to die... but i finish as a sunset just for me jajaja
