  1. i understand what you are getting at, but the scene through the window just doesnt look like its in shade, it looks like we are looking through black tinted glass. Although it might be correct it just doesnt look quite right. Apart from that, nice textures, floor looks great as was said.
  2. good job, i guess my only crit would be that the brown wall panels look a bit too flat, almost plasticine. feels like they could either benifit from some glossy reflects if they do reflect or if not some sort of grain or texture to bring them to life. apart from that its a very nice image
  3. i know this is a bit of an old thread here but i havent been around for a bit. I use archicad and max and i dont get any problems. as long as you model reasonably cleanly in archicad. if you do get any glitches these are usually taken care of with marc lorenz's plugin
  4. yeah its all a bit fluffy at the moment, structurally its utter rubbish, nothings been thought out, i believe there are some retractable walkways that are on the simulators so the balconies wouldnt be like they are in the image. its just meant to be a taster alongside usual business info to interest the client i think!
  5. heres a wip of a quick project i have going, stupid timeline really, design and pres in a couple days to show a potential client. any comments would be useful!
  6. hey guys, how are you all. heres a render i grabbed of a short flythrou im doing for a public consultation. its a bit cropped and abstract i guess but i quite liked the composition. the buildings shape is to fit around existing trees in a park.
  7. congrats to chen! not sure if anyone saw the article in this weeks aj. although the image they used must me years old now! lol
  8. no kpt. i find it a bit slow, ps sharpeners and equalisers have been fine for me, but i haven't done much experimentation to be honest! i fins that i have never had a render that didn't improve with a bit of level balancing in ps. and i also find that with vray it always needs to be sharpened at least with one pass in ps to bring back the crispness of the image. not sure what everyone else is like with altering their images in post prod thou?
  9. i remember talking about this a while back. i use archicad for modeling , its a very intutive and easy package to model with. vectorworks needs a lot more organisation to model with. if you don;t get everything sorted into layers and classes the model turns into a black screen with all the lines. it has plus points but archicad supports the lazy modeler better ( not that i am! lol) however, as an arch student i can't rate vecotrworks highly enough as a 2d draughter. simply the best i have seen by a long way. great tools and shortcuts make life very easy (archicad models go nicely into 3dmax too thou with the ml plugin)
  10. hi there, it is a nice image, and everthing is fine but as was mentioned before the lack of contrast just wiped the image out. i just curved it around in ps. hope you don;t mind, but i think that just with the contrast its a good strong image
  11. hehe that will have mark chuckling! i wanted a real simple clean building i took inspiration from a herzon and de meuron building in germany called funf hof in munich. they used a metal mesh shutter. that is probably the one you are thinking about! good idea about the trees, something i will do right now! cheers!
  12. hello again, this is part of my thesis, some of which i posted below about the micro brewery. i wanted to go for quite a moody look. took out most of the saturation in ps. and c&c welcome as always! this is very much in the process of changing so feel free with any thing! LOL
  13. good point woody. what would be the point of us saying everything is fine don't touch it!! ( just kidding!) Strat has always said the right things as far as i'm concerned. he's been here since the begining so top marks ! don't dis the strat, those welsh guys can get pretty feisty!!!
  14. argh forgot moneo!! and i love the sejima housing scheme! i do love john pawson but probably like sivstrin a bit more do you know terry pawson? i think he is john pawsons brother but that could be coincidence classic good idea 1 terragni 2 macel breuer 3 kahn 4 le corb 5 alvar alto
