  1. Disable the Displacement in Global Setting and enable embree in setting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. The weak point is the rendering power since it doesn't have many cores. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hello Akshay, please see below: 1) we charge based on resolution of the video and the length. 719px or below: 0.08 USD per frame 720-959px: 0.09 USD per frame 960-1280px: 0.1 USD per frame We accept PayPal. 2) we will need to check the complexity of scene to decide how much time we need. The time can be ranged within 1-2 hours (very simple and short video) to days. 3) email (small files less than 10Mb) the packaged file or provide a download link such as Dropbox link. We send the rendered video back through download link as well Please note that the above are all based on "hit the button and render". We will not make any changes to the scene. We will estimate the total cost after we check the file you send. We will charge additional if modification is needed Please do not hesitate to PM me if you have any more question. 4. I have some spare render node (dual E5 2696 v4, Dual E5 2696 v3 and Dual E5 2683 v3). I can help if it is just hit the button and let it render. What render engine do you use? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. Thanks Nikolaos, I am wondering if buying the ASUS z170a WS (1151 socket) with PLX chips would have significant difference in terms of performance compared to X99MB + 6850K? It is 1000W, it was my typo. If I just use 3 GPUs at this moment would 1000W be enough? Thank you!
  7. My goal is to have 1 workstation with higher single core frequency for modeling, editing etc and multiple GPUs for vRay GPU rendering. And then the other server as render node. Here is what I have now. Do you guys have any suggestion to optimize my current gears: The workstation CPU: Intel i7 6700K MS: MSI z170A mPower RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2666C16R DDR4 2666MHz 16GB Kit X2 (32G in total) SSD: Samsung 950 Pro M.2 2280 MZ-V5P256BW 256GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.1 SSD SSD: ADATA Premier SP550 240GB 2.5" SATA3 6Gb/s SSD HDD: Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB Desktop SATA3 6Gb/s /64MB HDD PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 1000W VGA: Quadro M5000 X1 + Nvidia Titan X (previous generation) x 2 Render node MB: Supermicro X10dri-t Server CPU:Intel XEON E5 2683v3 x 2 Samsung 16GB 2RX4 PC4-2400T ECC REG DDR4 2400 X 8 (128G in total) Plextor 256GB PCI-E SSD AcBel PC8055 R9 1100W 80Plus Gold I am now planning to replace the MB of the workstation with ASUS z170A WS so that I can upgrade to 4 GPUs in the future if I need. Now I will use 3 GPUs only. I don't do SLI so having different GPUs in same PC has no problem for me. Any advice is appreciated! I am open to sell/replace what I have now but it would be good to keep as much as possible
  8. Hi Nikolaos, thanks for your reminder. If this creates a lot of unnecessary discussion I apologize. On the contrary I am listening to what everyone say and I appreciate the input. I opened this in different forum just to get different point of view. I am not trying to waste everyone's time. Again, appreciate your input.
  9. I just happened to see this video on Youtube comparing the Quadro and Geforce. It shows that Quadro is much more smoother in viewport when you've got a heavy scene to handle. I know this is a bit old video. How does the new generation of Geforce 1080/1070 perform now? Is there still significant difference like the video shows if we compare Geforce 1080/1070 with Quadro m5000/m6000? If what the video shows still stand nowadays I don't mind paying extra to get the smooth playback/working experience in Maya. Can anyone shed some light here? Thanks!!
  10. Hi Joel, Dell UP2715K is my main monitor, a Dell u2414h is the 2nd monitor I use. Thanks!
  11. Thanks! Apologize for not making it clear that I have purchased the M5000. I think I can sell it anyway if I need. On the other hand, I am wondering if there is significant difference between GTX 1080 and 1070? Should I go with the latest 1080 or 1070 is just fine? Any brand you would like to avoid for 3D application? Thanks a lot!
  12. Thanks Dimitris, yes I already own a Quadro M5000 card. I purchased it at a much lower price than the retail price. I guess I will still use it at least for a while. If I had a need to change to GTX 1070 I will sell it in the 2nd hand market.
  13. Thanks all for the reply. Actually I have a friend who just told me yesterday he would like to give his gaming PC to me at a very competitive price (Only around US$600!!!). Here is the config: CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K Skylake (4 cores, 4.0GHz,8M Cache,LGA 1151,14nm,91w) MB: MSI Z170A MPOWER TITANIUM, Z170, ATX, LGA1151, 4*DDR4, Graphic by CPU PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G2 1000W RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2666C16R DDR4 2666MHz 16GB Kit X2 = 32GB total SSD1: Samsung 950 Pro M.2 2280 MZ-V5P256BW 256GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.1 SSD SSD2: ADATA Premier SP550 240GB 2.5" SATA3 6Gb/s SSD 7mm ASP550SS3-240GM-C HDD: Seagate ST1000DM003 1TB Desktop SATA3 6Gb/s /64MB HDD FAN: Corsair H100i v2 cooler DISPLAY: Not included but there is on-board video card. CASE: Corsair SPEC-03 It is so attractive and I think I will purchase the whole set (He won't sell separately). After that I will put my Quadro M5000 on it. I am thinking if I should replace some of them to fit my needs (e.g. replacing the MSI MB with ASUS X99II?). However I think I may not need to do that. How do you think if I just use this gaming PC as a workstation? I think it would do the work. Your comments appreciated!!
  14. I would like to build my system - a 3D workstation plus a render node. Here is the configuration and I would appreciate any input. Thank you in advance. Background: I mainly use Maya for modeling and rendering (also animation). I will also use zBrush for organic modeling. I also do a lot of photo processing with Photoshop and Lightroom. I want to build a workstation and a render node because I need speed of single-CPU (for modeling, photo edting etc.) and also time saver by using a render node. My system: Approximate Purchase Date: In this Sep/Oct Budget Range: US$ 3,500-4,000 for workstation; US$ 5,000-6,000 for render node System Usage from Most to Least Important: 3D modeling, animation and rendering Are you buying a monitor: No (Already own two - One Dell UP2715K 5K monitor and one 21" monitor) Do you need to buy OS: NO (have Windows 10 Pro) Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg.com/eBay.com/Amazon.com/Local stores Location: Hong Kong Parts Preferences: Prefer Intel, Quadro Overclocking: Yes (for workstation). I guess not for the render node SLI or Crossfire: Yes if that's a plus Your Monitor Resolution: 5K (Dell 5K) + 1920*1080 (21" monitor) 1 - Workstation: MB: Asus X99 DELUXE II, X99, ATX, LGA2011-v3, 8*DDR4 CPU: Intel Core i7 6800K 3.4Ghz 6C12T 15MB LGA2011-v3 BOX(BX80671I76800K) FT RAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2666C16R DDR4 2666MHz 16GB Kit (2x8GB) X 4 (I will buy two of this to make it 64GB in total) DISPLAY: PNY Quadro M5000 VCQM5000-PB 8GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 Full Height Workstation Video Card SSD: Samsung 950 Pro M.2 2280 MZ-V5P512BW 512GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.1 SSD HD: I think I won't buy HD since I would like to link this workstation to my existing QNAP NAS (TS-563). I already have three 4TB HD and one 256GB SSD installed in the NAS.
