Hello, it has been over a year since my last post. Heck, it has been almost a year since my last actually rendering job, so I feel that I have fallen way behind in this industry. Well I have been asked to do a interior rendering for my new employer. Normally it would not be a problem, except the only software available for me to use is Microstation and SketchUp. In the past I have used VIZ. So if anyone could let me know of any experiences with modeling and rendering with Microstation, it would be greatly appreciated. From what I gather, the client is looking for a fairly realistic rendering. Thank you!!

Looks great! The only thing that bothers me about it is the shadow being casted by the one piece of equipment. With the placement of the lights you think and location of the equipment there would be no shadows casted to each side.

I did a Pro Bono job for a non-profit development corp., but it was one of my first jobs that were done outside of my full time job. So I used it to test the waters and to hopefully get more jobs from them.

Here are some final images that were just turned over to the client. I know one thing that can be improved on is the grass. Also, the more that I look at it, something is off with the lighting. Here is update on the Living Units. I still need to add some people and tree on the left is a little thicker than I anticipated. So any suggestions that you may have in composition or image quality would be appreciated.

That is where I got my roof texture. I did do a little work in Photoshop, but not enough to even the color out obviously.

Chad, That sounds like a good idea. Do you happen to an example of that or a screen shot of the settings?

Here is a project that I am currently working on. Building is modeled using VIZ 4 and rendered using VrayFree. Any comments would be helpful. Or if someone has a dark gray shingle that does not tile as bad as the one that I have. Thanks in advance.

How long would you say it took you guys to produce some of those images. I have done a decent amount of renderings, but never have been given the time to get to add that level of detail.

Does anyone know where I can find "old people" cars. Unfortunatly I can not search thru turbosquid. The site seams to be having a major glitch, and the CGA store does not have what I am looking for. My client is looking for something along the lines of a Buick LeSabre, Grand Marquis, etc. Any help would be great. Thanks!!

How do you go about creating custom wall styles. Are there any tutorials out there? I would like to create a wall style for SIP's or ICF's.

You should be able to have a copy of Max at home. I don't know the exact language in the licence agreement, but at least for VIZ you can have a copy at work and at home because in you will be the only one using it and can not be working on both machines at the same time.
