  1. Hi! Hugin is also good for such things and it’s free: http://hugin.sourceforge.net
  2. I have taken a look at 3dsMax back when I was still a student, then I dropped it for Cinema 4D what I use since then. I felt Cinema 4D is good enough for my needs and the learning of the software was very quick because its ease of use. https://kallai.net
  3. Are you in contact with thebillboard company who will produce it? They usually can provide with a PS or InDesign template or tell you the requirement incl. which color profile you should choose and also the dpi. As i can see, for certain type of artwork 30 dpi should be enough, i'm not sure about renderings if it makes a difference compared to a photo. https://kallai.net
  4. I haven't payed anything when I used it. Of course there are limitations like presentation is available only online and maybe other limitations too. If you make your AE presentation public, feel free to share the link. https://kallai.net
  5. Try Prezi! It's online based so you don't necesserily need a stick. https://kallai.net
  6. If the scene is not copyrighted and royalty free, then it's up to you if you want to re-use them. I personally don't use scenes made by someone else but checking them for learning purposes is very handy. https://kallai.net
  7. Hi, Off topic: do you really need 60 FPS for a walkthrough with real-time engine? I'm not so familiair yet with real-time remderers. https://kallai.net
  8. Hi akihirvikangas, I can recommend C4D since the connection is very good with ArchiCAD. You have the possibility to update your model in Cinema if you have to export a new version of the same model from ArchiCAD later on. Just open the cinema scene in C4D you already adjusted with better materials for your first AC model, then go to File menu > Merge in C4D. It will open the Update Merge dialog where you can choose which data you want to update (Geometry / Lights etc.) If you have the Cinema 4D Exchange ArchiCAD Add-on you can bring in from Cinema to ArchiCAD some complex geometry which is hard to model in AC : Go to File menu > Interoperability > CINEMA 4D > "create new element in C4D " in AC. This will bring the live connection active and open C4D in parallel. You can send back the geometry from C4D to AC from file menu. Unfortunately the polygon count AC can handle us fairly limited though. Cinema 4D is easy to learn so I have no doubt you will enjoy the learning phase in the end! I'm afraid that you can't install any plugin for your Student version but there are 2 different Student versions andI don't know which one do you have. https://kallai.net
  9. Hi redvella, how come that you have no trouble with GPU vRAM limit with Redshift ? Is it using out-of-core memory handling or something else? What's your experience with big textures in the scene rendering with Redshift? https://kallai.net
  10. Hi Zhopudey, what is the configuration of your current workstation? What is the main reason for switching to GPU renderer, render speed? I'm personally not a Vray user but I suppose many features which allows you to create artistic look in Vray, might not exist yet for the GPU renderers. So, if you are OK with this, then don't hesitate to try out a trial version of Redshift. I've heard only good things about it. It really performs well in general. https://kallai.net
  11. Bloom and glare everywhere... https://kallai.net
  12. Hi Ernest! I really like the mood of the first two images! I'm currently still experimenting with this technic. I clearly don't match the additional hand-drawn part with the rendered image, so these are in contrast to strengthen each other. I like to draw the people or vegetation, those are hard to insert correctly in 3D anyway. https://kallai.net
  13. Hi Phil, rule of thumb : if the Cinema 4D Studio worth 4K Euro now, it cost half of this, 10 years ago, so less than 1.6K, 12 years ago. Look at the feature set what R18 offers. I'd suggest to compare to the competitors price instead of the old price.
  14. Congratulation Chris! I'm from Budapest and can suggest a few things to do during the 4 days you will spend there: - Night bath at Rudas: http://www.spasbudapest.com/actual/night-bathing-at-rudas - Go to any spa for a day. Most popular spas are: Szechenyi, Gellert spa - Ship Cruise on the Danube to see: - the Castle & Varkert Bazar - the Citadella with great view to the Pest side of the city - Pest city center (Deak Ferenc square & Kiraly street) of course there is much more to see... - for eating out, you can find plenty of restaurant at Raday street. E.g: IF cafe which has live jazz music almost every night or at the district VII, Mazel tov restaurant with great and unique athmosphere I hope it helps. Enjoy!
  15. Hey Ernest, it also depends on the complexity of the 3D model. Vectorworks is able to save fbx as I can see (but also native cinema 4D format which is not necesary in this case)
