  1. There will be times when we all'll be laughing about rendering from RAM+CPU ) but who want to stand in a line waiting.. ? BTW what are oldest PCs you harvest to do work? I think there is lower edge of line when there older machines are contra-productive.. eg you waiting too long for frame to finish..
  2. try to copy manually/automatic all files to same location as on pre-pass machine.. this should eliminate networking stress.. [should be pretty easy to write script for that]
  3. you are using same channel as your diffuse textures perhaps?
  4. to me it looks like you have large objects with low density of faces.. that's not much to do with it. also if you working with nVidia cards be sure to instal nVidia maxstreme performance drivers.. google them.
  5. Sorry but this must go to tutorials!
  6. seems like megatexture with cashing.. i'd like to see wires please.. I only saw about 30mil of tris in realtime.. otherwise nice vid
  7. draw spline check spline for continuity add edit poly/convert to poly modifier extrude ...untested
  8. have no time to do this right now but try posting on scriptspot.com or you can try contact renderJHS, creator of textools... or "sandman ninja" guy..
  9. check that you does not pressed SPACE by accident... if selected > space = selection lock
  10. evermotion should have old tutorial about this topic.... try to look for it
  11. Start: assuming that all nodes share same HW config... google for "pq magic" or "ghost image" (not scary one :] ) 1.make fresh OS install with drivers on first node 2.install all soft required - do not register, neither windows 3.make "ghost image" of that node 4.copy over nodes 5.boot up 6.boring part - register all 7.back up that image TIP: when copying partition also make "ghost"/invisible one on node hard disk.. this will save you time later when you need to reinstall fresh for speed [quick process from ghost already on disk]
