I know, I know maybe it's a bit premature but I just wanted to get it out there. Before ya know it the holidays are here and everyone'll be off celebrating.
I would like to say HAVE A HAPPY, HEALTHY HOLIDAY to all the members of CGarchitect.com. I hope everyone's new year is a good one.
All the best!!!
cheers,
Mike
Ernest,
I can't seem to find anything in my cookie settings from within firefox, but you make a good point about that. I wonder if my AV software has done something. I've updated to a newer version on PC Cillin 06 and wonder if there's something going on from within. I'll post if I find anything.
Question. I'm having some problems staying logged in here. I'm using firefox as my browser and end up getting kicked off from being logged in. Was wondering if there's any fixes for this. I'll either open another tab for browsing or go back to another application and when I come back I'm logged off. Not too big of a deal, but was just curious about it.
Thanks
Thanks for the comments, I appreciate your help with this one.
here's another go at it...with the settings included.
Lights: MR area spots at the entry door and the window under the stair and lights in the living room (the room the cameras standing in) to fill the archway in the foreground.
VIZ 2005 with MR
this is done with GI only. I'm not sure which would be better,...GI or FG.
I need help with settings and was wondering if anyone would care to share.
I need some help figuring out what it takes to get more detail out of my crown mouldings and the profiles on the wainscotting.
I started by selecting the lights and squashing the attenuation gizmo in the "Z" axis by about 50% so it didn't reach the ceiling. I'm running it now, I'll post it in a minute. I'll take the advice and add an area light in the center to add more fill
I've modeled a pendant mounted ceiling fixture that has six lights in it. It's a chandeleir/candleabra type fixture. I'm not sure the best way to setup the lights for it. I've placed an omni at each light location and it ends up getting way too bright on the ceiling. Anyone have any ideas for fixing this?
The lights are 6 shadow mapped omni lights with inverse squared attenuation
just using FG for rendering

somehow the sunlight feels muted when it hits the building. I'm not sure if I'm explaining it well enough. When I look around at the building and see the strong shadows, I see that it's apparently a bright sunny day. But when I just look at the building surfaces and the colors and contrast of them they seem kind of blan . I would just expext the sun to make the material colors and the contrast of the walls punch more. Maybe it's just the angle of the sun. Good work with the modeling and all.
