1. Hi all My 3d visuals are on their way in construction. I was asked to make a time lapse video throughout the phase in a short video after 1 year construction period. This is interior mostly. Comprising of few floors. So about 2 month a floor. Question is, is there any ip cam or gadget that is specially made for this purpose as it will require uninterrupted power and video storage for up to a month so I can visit site every month and free up space? Will appreciate if those who has done this sort of thing can shed some light Cheers
2. Studio/Institution: Freelance Genre: Retail Exterior Software: 3ds max 2011, Vray, PSD Website: http://illustrat3d.com Description: Hi all, I have been rendering for 6-7 years now, and have never done exterior renderings! I always hated it, and avoided it. I feel now to be competitive I will eventually have to master it hence started accepting exterior jobs, good opportunity came as the client is a known friend so I feel more comfortable at attempting something new, and get paid! This can't be good enough for someone who knows/works with vray for years! I used HDRI for environment, Reinhard, and entire scene is modelled, post production with render elements, colour correction and DOF effects. Any suggestions/critique welcomed! Thanks p/s: Think client is OK with this, happy but I know it's not a 'wow'!
3. Do a good job and keep clients happy, eventually in the long run you will get more and more referrals. But i must say most of the clients came from former colleagues who i have been working with, and it branches out from there(again if did a good job). I do get 1 or 2 calls a month from people who might have found me from the internet.
4. Add more contrast to the image, and some glossiness on the wood floor? I dont think the wall white should be the same white material on the furniture, maybe a warmer white on the walls? And that light fixtures on the ceiling can throw more light and diffuse the fixture a bit as well.. Hope that helps
5. Not bad, what might help is work more on the yellow cushion. Make it more 'stiff' and thicker, resting on the side arm properly. Also define better the portrait hanging on the wall..
6. Might help to add more contrast to the image by colouring different pipelines, some darker some lighter or red etc.. IMO Not bad at all! Keep it up
7. Well, for a start you can try these 1. Work on the materials, especially the wood and concrete, and the glass. Will be good if you can show what is happening inside through the glass 2. The grass can be better. 3. Add accessories in the front of the house, probably some seating? Its a good start, keep it up! S.
8. Jason, so far so good, and as you said, still need to add your textures in For now, i think for the angle, maybe bring it up a bit higher so we get the see the water in the jacuzzi? S
9. Studio/Institution: freelance Genre: Residential Interior Software: Vray 2.0, 3ds max 2011 Description: Hi All Hope everyone is doing great. I'm working on this terrace visual for 2 days now, and came to this stage where i gather more feedback/suggestions, if more could be done on this visual. Please do let me know what you think. Thanks in advance! Satish
10. Robert, looks really good, i shall try to come up with something like this instead of rendering still! Will try out! Is this just 1 light source, wonder if it will light interior scenes well.. Thanks!!
11. I think it looks quite good as it is, but for the sake of getting better renders, maybe you can try adding direct sunlight? I think it might help connect the exterior to interior, the shadows from the balcony railings...
12. So after 1 week of 'working' with you guys, i guess i should move on. Here's the final render. Will be good to get honest feedbacks again! Thanks a lot. I had to remove RPC People, because it crashes my 3ds max!
13. Thanks Wim, i corrected those. Is this any better now? After more work in the direction of the feedback i received.. I'm looking at it, and thinking what more can i do on this image... Hmmm
14. Thanks Gary, there's only one main light source, VraySun.. The downlights on the left are just enough to light the area behind the wood strips. Speaking of which, i always wondered, and hence my question, is there a rule for the best position of sunlight relative to camera? Angles? Heights? Or am i right by just placing where it looks good -test rendering?
15. Hi All, Firstly, thanks everyone for the feedbacks, it really helped. I worked on it over the weekends, taking into account the feedbacks, i'm happy with this, although its not a 'wow'. But see if you guys agree with me, while i work on it further. Thanks
