If you are going for a rendering with a evening scene, set some lights in the interior of the rooms. Vray plane lights will do.

What rendering plugin are you using, MentalRay or Vray?

Very, very good. Love the image. There is depth in the image, vivid colors, shadows. The changes are a lot. Good job.

Hello Bullet Great render, I am in the transition to Mentalray too. I work on Vray, but due to cost on upgrades, the firm I work for will hold for the moment. I wanted to know if you can post more info on materials and lighting. And setting for mental ray. still great job.

STL is the way to go. make sure the model from SoildWorks is clean, or a finished model. 3dsmax 2009 will import well the model. It will come in as one object. You will have to break it down as elements then. Hope this helps.
