Just got the Renderboxx, 32GB of ram 4-4 quads 2.5ghz each, what used to take 14 days for an animation it now took 14 hours!!!

Thablanch, thanks for your reply, the thread was really confusing though with chaosgroup, does someone have any straight forward stuff with photoshop or fusion? I have seen all the links, and they dont really explain the post production part of it, http://area.autodesk.com/index.php/tutorials/tutorial_index/making_of_the_auditorium/ this tutorial here is very good but I was hoping someone could go more in depth how this layers are setup in photoshop, and in what order? what kinf of color correction, lens, or anything else do we add to them? As i have seen from many people in the field that post production is the most important part of the process to give your image more life. Well i hope someone can come thru, Thanks.

ok so the 3GB switched worked, now to see if i can render out an animation! crossing my fingers! Cant wait till i get my renderboxx also.

I have not tried the vista 3GB switch do u have any idea where I can get the info on how to set it up the proper way?

My scene is about 600,000 polygons, with about 20 tree vray proxies, and 2 vechile vray proxies, some of the trees are instances, I have the frame buffer on, resolution is set for vray, and vrimg file is on, generate preview is off, im using also a Irradiance map with show calc off and a brute force for secondary, i have my dynamic on also. With all these render settings it stil crashing, the still image is 2000 x 1200, and my computer specs are dual core 2.4GHZ 4GB RAM Windows Vista 32bit system if anyone has any ideas please explain, thanks.

well the license states "you are NOT licensed to use the Software in connection with the sale, resale, license or other commercial reproduction or distribution of images and 3D models generated by the Software." But what if we are not selling but building a nursery of our own here at CGarchitect, and plus you can not use the treestorm file format if you do not have a licensed copy of the program. I guess maybe what Onyx could be trying to say is that you can not profit from it by selling their format. But if they have a nursery that you can download for free, why can we not build a free nursery of our own. Someone should drop an email to Onyx and find out if we can do it that way.

Im not that great at making the onyx trees, anybody have an idea of they have a forum where you can download trees that are made already? I used the nursery but they only offer a few, I did purchase their confier, and broadleaf modeler and library. For example im looking for a Post Oak, Red Maple, Red Pine, Beech trees, etcc.... if anybody knows please let me know thanks.

Hello everyone I am doing some work on vray, I have gone thru the tutorials with the compositing, and understand very well how it works, im just wondering if someone can give me some information what type of modifiers do I do to the composite images in photoshop, for example zdepth do i give it a multply or screen? and for my ambient occulsion, shawdows, reflection, refraction? and in what order do i stack them in photoshop? I Apperciate it alot if someone can help me out with this issue,

Hello i was wondering if someone can help me, i have just started a small rendering business for architecture, and we are trying to setup a small rendering farm, we are using 3d max 2008, with vray 1.5, can someone please help me with each step how to network and than setup each computer to create a renderfarm, i am using two laptops, one desktop thats a dualcore, and one regular desktop thats about 2 years old.
