  1. 30 - getting there! Good stuff! The Tomytronic was a must - the good old days, they just don't make toys like they used to. another trip down memory lane is this site: http://www.AQuarterOf.co.uk stay away from the sherbets - you'll be hooked!
  2. Thanks, it's a shame I can't open up the DWG files. I'm looking for a bit more detail.
  3. Does anyone know of any good sites that show decent sized photos/models of windows and timber doors?
  4. What skies would one recommend for a garden scene (nice bright blue skies)? Are the Dosch HDRI skies any good?
  5. Hi Guys, I'm working on my first exterior project and I have 3 dxf files (floor plan, proposed section and elevations). I have C4D 8.5 and Illustrator 8 at the moment and can open the dxf file with a few errors like: - Layer x is hidden - LWPOLYLINE is not a supported element; - HATCH is not a supported element - REGION is not a supported element Does anyone know what this is about? Is it essential that these things must be included? Also could someone detail how they export their dxf file for use in their 3d program. What's the cleanup process? Is it normal to start extruding from floor plans from a dxf file if it's opened up in C4D/other? Sorry if the questions seem pretty straight forward - it's a first for me dealing with dxf files and building from them! Any help appreciated. Cheers
  6. Strat can you make an arched pattern of bricks with the brick maker program?
  7. I'm selling myself short in a nutshell! Thanks for your advice guys as I had no idea what to charge especially as I'm just breaking in to the industry and trying to find work. (What a mug! )
  8. Thanks Guys! Going by the average extrerior prices would it be feesible to charge a 1/4 of this especially if I'm just starting out?
  9. I know the question on exterior render prices has been discussed but I'd like to know how much one would charge for an interior scene eg. a kitchen or living room? Any ideas - I'm based in the UK.
  10. EXCELLENT!!!!!! Thanks a bunch Strat - I'm working on a garden scene and these are ideal!!!!
  11. This is a nice scene, I agree with Richard, the second image is better - why? - The colour would look much better if there was a bump map added to the walls as they look a bit flat at the mo. The mirrors on the wall also look flat. You are planning to add some sinks aren't you? :-) Oh what about a bath mat be it mesh or fabric - to add a bit of character to the room? Keep tweeking and this would be a great render!
  12. Strat - Which in your opinion is the most versatile and useful software - Vectorworks or ArchiCad?
  13. I've updated my image - please feel free to leave any crits. http://www.cgtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=136912 Thanks
  14. Just wanted to know whether anyone would be turning up to the Digital Architect Tour 2004 in London? http://www.thedigitalarchitect.com/London.html
  15. Ace Face - The lights used in the floor lamp are normal omni lights not tube lights. I've got five of them in the lamp shade and they are set to 'soft' shadow. Should these be hard? Hi Strat! - Thanks your view :-) I haven't got any GI as I'm using radiosity.
