  1. Give me some time to get back home today and I'll send you a few pics of my work. The one bad thing about glass though is that the photographs just don't give the depth of the piece enough justice, but it may help with ideas:)
  2. It looks nice. I like the way the reflection is bouncing through the glass panels. I've been debating on which software to choose for myself and by looking at this I may try to demo C4D. Is the panel of glass already there and being remodeled around? I only ask because I do deep carved glass-work and I could see that the right piece, in that spot, would look outstanding. Donnie
  3. Owen you beet me to it! Damn, now I'm going to be singing that song all night! I think it looks good, leaning in the watercolor direction. One thing that does catch my eye is the realism of the stone on the fireplace compared to everything else. Other than that things are good. Congrats on your first image post! It's pretty nerve-racking waiting for replies, at least for me. Donnie
  4. Not being an advanced renderer and all yet, but is it possible that the material is just translucent enough to pull the reflection through the roof. Just throwing things out there:) Donnie
  5. Having the variety of color is nice now. It kind of brings things to life and adds some depth. Great Job!
  6. WOW! thanks so much everyone for the positive feedback. I have to say that I am a little hesitant posting due to all the great talent here. It makes me think how much I have to learn in regards to a good rendering techniques. However, it's all a learning experience and one which I am eager to push forward. Which leads me to my fist question..... ******Drum roll please**** I do all my Autocad modeling in solids appose to surfaces, part in which because I never really learned the surface technique and because now, I have become relatively quick and accurate doing so. I know that this subject has been approached on the boards before but, as far as software choice, Which system best integrates with Autocad and works well with solids? Also, Having never really working in an advanced rendering program will my trial period be more of a learning experience or a comparison for which software is best for me? Everything has a learning curve and I feel as though I pick up on things rather quickly, but I'm uncertain about choosing a software and spending all my trial not being able to sample it's potential. Any suggestions or comments?
  7. The siding is modeled. Honestly I haven't been able too succumb to the mapping for certain things yet. Especially with siding and shingles. Although the shingles on the higher roof are bitmap. I was running short on time and the mapping wasn't placing the shingles properly over the porch gable.
  8. I've always done a lot of solid modeling through Autocad and just recently a local architect started commissioning me to do some 3d views for him. I use accurender so the software has limitations compared to Max or Viz. I actually anticipate learning Maya because I'm able to attain a copy, just for more possibilities. Anyway go easy, Accurender is all I have to work with right now. P.S. Since this is my first post I would just like to say hi to the wide array of talented people who visit this board. One-day with your inspiration's I hope to better my skills and do the CG architect community proud. Donnie
