  1. Not sure how other places do things, but for me Podcast have helped me in these past years. Given that I can keep working and keep learning as I work. I've always found lots of good stuff from Allan Mckay's podcast. Choas group has a really good podcast that I enjoy listening to Link CG Garage I have more I listen to but these are a couple of them I find really good listening!
  2. To be honest I would start with the 3d max Help, you can't go wrong just going through this, http://help.autodesk.com/view/3DSMAX/2015/ENU/ I think this will answer any question you will have in learning max. The max help files have so much information to using 3d max to its fullest. Unless your mainly looking for video tutorials I highly recommend using this way. Hope this helps.
  3. I tried the Google cardboard app the other day and it worked fine on importing 360 renderings. Just have to name first part with Pano_ as the prefix of the name for the app to the image. Just using my note 4 and it worked fine. I used Vray renderer and it was very easy just doing the camera override to 360 FOV. I purchased a set of goggles to insert my phone into and that was fun too.
  4. Weird... The lagging stopped but now I'm not sure if it was me toggling the ribbon... Time will tell.....
  5. I always get that evil piece of geometry every now and then that wont die. Born of File linking and surviving the merge. Some how coming back for vengeance for me trying to delete it out of existence.
  6. Only time I've ever had trouble deleting an object is when I use File link.
  7. I like to kill a Corona after a long day of Vray but sometimes forget to get limes so I go back to Budweiser cause it works without needing limes.
  8. Denis do you have a link to your sample models? We have been looking for a decent 3d library to replace using Photoshop 2d people.
  9. I still have yet to find a good a 3d library to my standards. So for now my weapon of choice is Photoshop.
  10. And after all the lighting and rendering I like to put my images into photoshop and push the image some more.
  11. LOL... Ouch..for that much might as well buy your own RC...
  12. A DSLR would be nice to use for one. But man I would be worried about having a hard landing with it once and lose a camera . Atleast with a Go Pro they are built geared towards sports and a lot lighter than a DSLR.
  13. Yeah I was looking at the RC's the other day too. I saw some small cheap ones but the resolution was too low. But searching the web a little I came across this. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=&sku=919955&is=REG&Q=&A=details ...And add a little of this http://gopro.com/hd-hero3-cameras . (The black edition Go Pro). Who knows..it could turn into a fun hobby too of practicing flying them. And looking at the price of both it would round close to $1000. Plus now that Go Pro supports viewing your feed thru an iphone and all...
  14. http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/3dsmax_2010_special_effects.pdf Page 21 on should be an example of setting up arrows along a path using particle flow
  15. The learning curve is high for Zbrush. But the pay off for learning it is worth it. Yeah Cusions and organic shapes would be a good use for Zbrush. Every time they do an update Zbrush just gets better and better! Maybe try the demo and see if its for you. But lke someone else mentioned about maybe blender I did come across this http://www.blender.org/features-gallery/feature-videos/?video=head_sculpt I've tried mudbox a few times but it just doesnt have all the tools that zbrush now has.
