  1. hi i downloaded the script i find on this website and i have been trying to covert max materials to Vray but im having difficulties in doing it...plz can someone help me with it...thanks ^_^

  2. In autocad set facetres to 10 and viewres to 20000 Another setting in 3ds max import is important but I'm in bed now and can't quite remember exactly what it is.
  3. thanks neko. i'm 99% sure autocad cannot do what i've been asked for it to do. i know there are plenty of workarounds but i was curious if auotcad could do it simply. thanks again.
  4. thanks, i am familiar with paperspace but thats not what we're looking for. we have a big complicated drawing and we only want to issue a particular rectangular portion of it. nothing else. we'd like to do this without having to explode and trim blocks and other entities. unless i'm missing something paperspace only allows you to crop what is displayed in paperspace, i.e. other contents outside of the crop/viewport box could still exist.
  5. Hi. Is it possible to crop a drawing in AutoCAD (2011), and that the command will automatically crop all the entities (blocks and all)? I don't think it is but I need to ask because I'm told this facility has existed in Microstation for some time now. Thanks.
  6. Thanks for that TJunkers. I'm no expert but I wouldn't call myself a beginner either. The tutorial I'm looking for is of particular interest to me as it had some very good photoshop tips which is an area where I am pretty much a beginner.
  7. Hi. Some time back I found a tutorial online (one long page jpeg download) which was specific to Vray, I think. It also had some photoshop post work on it for colour correction, adding light bloom etc. and the subject model in the tutorial was a school classroom. I've since lost it and was hoping one of you guys might have seen or or remember it. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for you advice guys but it turns out it is was something in my glas material. I used a different glass material and it was fine. If I get a chance to examine the original glass material and find out what cause dit I'll let you know.
  9. Hi. Would anybody have any idea why my HDRi sky is rendering pixelated in the window reflections on the attached image? My setup follows Peter Guthrie's format - http://www.peterguthrie.net/blog/2010/04/vraysun-and-hdri-sky-tutorial/I'm using a Vray Sun and a Vray Dome Light with a HDRi file mapped to it. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks
  10. Thanks for all the help guys. The VrayOverrideMtl seems like the quickest method for me needs but I'll mess around with both options.
  11. Thanks but the shadow colour option in the Vray Object properties is only for mattes objects. I did try it and it didn't work.
  12. Hi. Can anybody tell me how to adjust the colour of the shadows cast by individual objects. I'm doing a shadow study and I'd like to colour code shadows for eaves and ridges of roofs to see what shadows each are casting. I'm using a daylight system with VRaySun. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
  13. Hi. We use AutoCad 2011 with HP1050C/1055CM plotters and HP5500DN/5550DN printers. We've never managed to get the colours displayed on screen in AutoCad to match the output we get from any of our printers. This applies to solid colours and images. We've tried a few times but with little or no success. Does anybody know if it is possible to match screen and print colours in AutoCAD and would anybody like to share their workflow in doing this. Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanks.
  14. Thanks Tommy L. I'm sure it would help but the printed output is so far removed from the screen output that it would take a lot more than just that. I need to adopt much of Jeff's advice and then I'm sure I would see the benefits of post work in Photoshop. At present I occassionally edit the image in Photoshop all the while knowing the printed output will still not look the same.
  15. Thanks for that Jeff. I'll certainly take a look at the Advanced 3DATS book. Apologies for posting in the wrong forums.
