  1. Hi All, Tnx for your quick replies. I'm not sure I understand the 'double' exposure though: I thought a vray physical camera uses EITHER the EC in the camera OR the EC in the environment, not 'both'. I haven't found anything about this in the manual... Can anyone shed some more light on this issue? Tnx! rgds, E @Michael: I don't know, another artist modelled this interior... I'm only lighting and animating the scene... ;-)
  2. Hi All, When I setup my EC to the SAME values in both the vray physical camera or in the environment and render images using both methods, the rendering results are totally different for every method. Does anyone know why of how this happens? I don't have a clue... Some more information: I ONLY switch the 'exposure' checkbox in the vray physical camera, with default EC-values: f-number = 8 shutter speed = 200 / film speed (ISO) = 100 Any help is most appreciated! Tnx! rgds, E
  3. My own album... (how weird and stupid is that?)
  4. Hi All, I'm having an issue with mental ray and it is driving me nuts... Whenever I render a frame of our animation on a local machine, the frame looks fine. When I sent it out to the netwerk, it doesn't... Rendered Local... Rendered over the Netwerk... Sometimes it will be ok in the netwerk (when not re-using the FGM), but even than mostly it does not either. My guess is that the re-use of a FGM is somewhere somehow the cause, but I have not found a constant reason on how or when this happens. My process: I render the animation every 20th, adding FG points to a FGM. Next I re-use that FGM (locked) for every frame. I've tried rendering the image at 1/64-1/64, with the checkbutton 'calculate only' AND I've also tried both methodes rendering the FGM on a local machine and through the network... For now, every time I've got the same results, which you can see in the image below... My only solution so far has been to render a WIP-version without re-using the FG (so re-calculating for every frame) but that cannot be used for final rendering: increased rendering time / flickering... Does anyone got any clue how to solve this? Anyone had the same issue? Anyone any clue where to start looking for a solution? Any help is most welcome ,-) rgds, Nisus
  5. Ellow Johan,

  7. Hi All, A quick question, since the last update is almost 9 years old... So how does one TODAY takes his models from max to google earth? Any tips? Can one also bring in textures? rgds, nisus

    Where was nisus?

Hi Neil, I'd really love to. I have planned this trip for several years, yet didn't make it for the last 2 years in a row. This year might get hard again, as I suffered from serious illness (and thus a serious blow to my shedule and todo-lists!). Not sure if I'll be able to get another week behind, or in other words: using this 'sheduled' week might undo some/most damage by my illness. It'll depend on this weeks progression. Still hoping for the best! When do you arrive? When do you leave? Where are you staying? rgds, nisus

    Where was nisus?

Ow yes so true. I forgot the EUE. But you where not present last year? How comes? I only gained my energy again in the last 1,5-2 years and to be honest the fact that I can rely on our expanded team since that point has helped a whole lot. That also gives me energy. Before that I was literally burned out for several years... and on top of that I suffered extremely from memory loss, lack of focus (even worse than any regular adhd),... Well, things go better now! Glad to hear from you again! rgds, nisus

    Where was nisus?

Hi Philip, Tnx for your comment. I'll explain a bit more: I've been hanging around in the real world instead of on forums. I have lost interest and gained back a bit. Tons of stress and the canoe is one way to regain energy. That really helped. I have also been studying, which I have never actually quit doing, and most likely never will. In the last four years I've studied German, before that I've been into ballroom and latin dances. That is for +10years now. I'm still into mental ray too. Why have I been out? Well, working 12-16hours a day, one doesn't feel like taking his job back home into his spare time... Maybe you know the feeling, hopefully you don't!! Hi Koper, Long time no see! Last time was in Boston I assume. That was ages ago! And yes I'm still into 3d, running animotions for 11 years now... but as you might have guessed. I needed something to get away from the job too ;-) It works well with the canoe! What is that flipboard on the iPad? An application? rgds, nisus
  12. Hi All, For those wondering where I've been in the last past years... http://in2thewildblog.wordpress.com/ rgds, nisus
  13. Hi All, Tnx for your replies. Can't build one, because I don't have the time and we don't have Onyx either... ;-'( I'll keep looking... Tnx! rgds, nisus
