  1. this comment from Strat: "this helps beautifully with radiosity and gi (as we all know kids, 2 separate things)" call me stupid.. but could someone please explain the differences?
  2. tried the blur tip but that doesn't seem to work. It seems to be a problem with how the model has been exported from ArchiCAD - 3DS. The textures look fine on different faces but not on these ones. I've used the same textures in another file - modelled in Cinema and they seem to be fine. When the objects are imported in to cinema they're tagged with the following tags (which I don't quite understand). A phong tag and also a UVW tag. Confused as to why this is happening really as I've done this same process before and never had this problem
  3. Is there anyone who could give me a quick pointer as to what is happening with my textures. I can't work out what is going on. Cinema seems to be adding some form of jaggediness to all the textures. It's not noticeable from a distance (apart from the timber as you can see) but even the brick is getting some weird distortion.. Any suggestions would be gratefully received..
  4. I prefer to use CAD to model as I am more familiar with it and feel that I can model far more accurately due to snaps and the like. I use archiCAD by the way. that 'remove triangulation' tip is a good one strat, cheers
  5. what do you mean by this? "... just have the light Scene panel to Exclude the Glass folder."
  6. Not using best Antialiasing but just doing gemometry. Turning it on seems to have sorted most of it. Turned off GI for the glass materials and also refraction which has helped too I think. seems to be working a lot better. thanks
  7. the image is at http://www.andy-matthews.co.uk/c4d/glassproblem.jpg for some reason when I put a fill in light in the room at the front it make the glass go a funny colour... am I being stupid?
  8. Hi, I'm just trying to get back into using Cinema. Really making a lot more progress now but the one stumbling block I have is that my glass always has funny artifacts around the edge of it.. I'll post an image in a sec but it's annoying the hell out of me. Any suggestions. I'm using Radiosity if that makes a difference.
  9. I use ArchiCAD for modelling... works a treat.
  10. Hi, Just started using c4d and a friend has reccomended this forum..MattVinoir. Please don't flame me for the images below. They are my first attempt at real Arch Visualisation and I am very willing to listen to all your comments... I prefer the B+W one. I think the bump mapping on the Concrete needs to be turned down as it looks too much like wood. Thanks in advance.. I know they're very basic at the moment but I'm at a bit of a steep learning curve and I'm not sure excatly what can be achieved and how.
  11. Hi there, Does anyone know of any good websites/books etc for teaching yourself C4D.. Many thanks
  12. The pro version is due in November this year with the Student and Uni versions following within six months...all acording to my ArchiCAD reseller. Andy
