  1. Nice work_I like your lighting in your main images, they work well, both night and day. Scene composition is effective too. Agree with Ralf about the close up shots though, not sure where the focus is.
  2. I would definately add stronger uplights and I'd take a look at the roof as well, it doesn't look part of the model. I like the camera view and the design it has potential to be a really nice visual. I would add some better reflective glass material in the window openings and along the walkways.
  3. Very nice. It has a nice loose feel to it. I agree it would be nice to see the original image and your process.
  4. To help streamline the workflow in our office I created a checklist for the designers which they could use before giving me a brief. Needless to say they don't use it and simply come and discuss what they want with me. Thought I'd attach the checklist I created anyway, it is structured around interior design, hopefully it may be of use to someone.
  5. Agreed....but even then I think designers should actually sketch it out first because even sketchup can restrict some designers creative process by not knowing how to use the tools. Then take into max as said previosuly to refine for high end visuals. I am sorry but I do not see SketchUp as a replacement for this. Diagramatic visuals maybe but not photorealistic. Our process is to use AutoCad in conjunction with SketchUp and then take the files into max for rendering
  6. Agreed but I also feel that SketchUp has limits and should not be considered on Par with 3DS Max or Revit. Horses for courses I think and it should not be used for something it is not....ie BIM. It can be useful for quickly blocking out designs and sketching out ideas, but not detailed modelling.
  7. I work for a company where all the designers use sketchup and they think they are all great and fantastic modellers, they are even starting to render in it using VRay and ask the question why is 3DS Max so expensive? And what can it do that SketchUp can't?? Now they are trying to convert SketchUp into BIM by using plugins!!! So I know how you feel it's nice to know somone out there is as frustrated as me:rolleyes: I fully understand and appreciate the 'SketchUp Curse'
  8. It's a landmark building I think, be interesting to see how it actually gets used in time and what defining impact it has in Dubai. Here's a bit more info on the building about how it is lit etc. http://acdc.monito.co.uk/jpems/display.php?t=s&id=5016_23_16_8yhnrwa5jy
  9. Your right I was confused then. Thanks for clearing that up.
  10. Interesting how you up your ISO values to eliminate noise. Does this work?
  11. I'm not a master on the camera but I do know for interiors tend to use F-stop 4 exteriors start at around 8. I was told that your shutter speed and film speed should be as close together as you can get them. I sometimes use 100 and 100 for this (working in linear workflow). Not a full description but it's a start

  13. I like the lighting too it creates a nice mood. Although I can see the point of it being a little dark. I also would like a tap from my mirror:) Could do with dome joining detail where the tap starts and ends.
  14. This type of thing really annoys me, as rather than use thier own time to create something their own they would rather use it to just blatantly rip something off. 0 for creativity in a profession which you need an element of creative flair.
