1. I suggest focusing on composition and post production. This is a very basic building that can be given a mood using lighting and ALOT of photoshop. I'm more interested in the style/mood than trying to make the render look perfectly photo-real.
2. I put together a quick tutorial to show this process.
3. In Photoshop you can adjust the mask of your adjustment layer. Say you have an Exposure adjustment layer that you are using to adjust only the background of your image. In the same box where the adjustment layer sliders are there is a TAB next to the adjustment tab where you can adjust the mask.
4. We've had a few instances where max11 creates or duplicates a sun light upon opening an existing file. Anyone else run into this?
5. When I have this kind of problem creating curved polylines in AutoCAD I change the SURFTAB1 and SURFTAB2 parameters to something larger than the default (6) to something like (32). Usually fixes the problem. Only thing is that you have to rebuild the polyline after changing the parameters, AutoCAD does not update the polyline for you. -Dave
6. We're on the cusp of finding out if 'Capitalism' works. Every industry out there is feeling the emptiness of outsourcing. Make it costly to outsource and you've given your citizens a fighting chance. Our government has actually helped make it more affordable to outsource, that may be the problem. I'm not a fan of big government, but the U.S. is already heading that way with the bank crashes and auto industries in peril. I haven't heard anything about a visualization stimulus package yet, still waiting.
7. I think you're lucky Detroit still has a team after the seasons they've had lately.
8. Has anyone worked much with EXR's in CS4? Are there more adjustment layers available? Curves?
9. We've been asked to do 10 - 12 comps that could hold up in court. Is there someone out there who has done alot of this type of compositing work with 2d images that knows of extremely accurate techniques or software for camera matching?
10. I'd say do do separate region renders for those area and comp them together in photoshop
11. I did not have luck with respower. http://www.rendernation.com was great.
12. I second changing the camera shot, seems to need some foreground. Maybe adjust the aspect too. The wood floor feels a bit to large too.
13. We're now using Max Design 2009 with the service pack and everythings been working great.
14. Take a couple steps back. Try locking down the shot first. Think like a photographer might and treat the building with respect to its surroundings. Then focus on a light source and materials with glossy reflections and such. vrayexpert.com???
