  1. Are you getting any error messages when trying to open your 2011 files with your 2012 program? Do they still open in 2011?
  2. CGTuts also have lots of great free Modo tutorials: http://cg.tutsplus.com/category/tutorials/luxology-modo/
  3. Looks like you're a little bit late to the party. This thread is 6 years old. Next time you might want to check the date of the last post before replying.
  4. ADT 3 is pretty old, (Released in 2000 I believe), and it is a 32 bit application. So getting it to run perfectly on a 64 bit Win 7 machine may be difficult. But having said that, try the MENULOAD command. There may be some menu files that need to be loaded.
  5. No, it will not display on a render from Max. The watermark just displays on the sheet when printed from Autocad.
  6. Thanks for the comments everyone, but this one is finished. It looks exactly how I envisioned it. Desolate and isolated. I will probably come back to it some time in the future and try some different things, (put the house in different locations, add more junk around the outside, play with lighting, etc.), but for now, I'm moving on to the next project.
  7. Well, the dvd only covered the modeling of the fountain. It didn't cover texturing, lighting or rendering. I think they released a 2nd dvd that went into detail about that stuff, but I didn't get that one.
  8. Studio/Institution: Rod DeWeese personal artwork Genre: Other Software: Studio Max, ZBrush, Mental Ray, Photoshop Website: http://www.rdeweese.com/ Description: I created the fountain while watching the awesome Eat3D fountain modeling training dvd. I didn't fully detail it out like they did in the dvd, because you would never see any of that detail in my render, but I was happy with how it looked so I textured it and built a scene around it. I had this image on my desktop at work for a while and many people wanted to know where that photo was taken. LOL
  9. Studio/Institution: Rod DeWeese personal artwork Genre: Residential Exterior Software: Studio Max, Mental Ray, Photoshop Website: http://www.rdeweese.com/ Description: This is a personal project that I've been working on for the last three Saturdays. Modeled and rendered in Studio Max with Mental Ray and finishing touches in Photoshop.
  10. You might want to take a look at some of the free Autocad alternative programs such as Draftsight or DoubleCAD XT. Or you could pick up a copy of ProgeCAD for about $400. All of these programs are very similar to Autocad and they read and write to the .dwg drawing format. This might be a good way for you to learn CAD drafting without spending a lot of money.
  11. Sounds like you need to reset the xform. You can find this option in the Utilities panel.
  12. This is most likely a Windows problem, not an Autocad problem. Try the advice suggested here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_programs/error-1719-windows-installer-errorwindows-7-home/2d530d2a-30e1-4170-9462-ecc6ef43859c
  13. I could understand if you were just starting out with Autocad, It can be quite overwhelming for a new user, but if you've been using it for several years you should be comfortable with it by now. Why do you want to use a different program?
  14. After making your initial selection with the Magic Wand, you can switch to the Marquee tool or Lasso tool, hold down the Alt key and then drag out a selection in the area you want to subtract from the selection. Or, hold down the Shift key and drag out a selection in the area you want to add to your selection. You can do the same with the Magic Wand, you can hold down the Alt key and click to subtract from your selection or Shift key and click to add to the selection.
